About Me
Hi there! I’m Maria DeLay. I’m originally from San Diego, but have been in Oklahoma since I was about 14. I live with my family in Tulsa, OK, and I not only love all aspects of food and cooking, but I also absolutely love creating. I grew up in the kitchen, surrounded by people who found joy and importance in food. My maternal grandparents were masters in the kitchen, and owned The Kerry Patch restaurant and The Pizza Shoppe franchise in the Kansas City area. My paternal grandmother, Lupe Perez, is a first generation American whose Mexican roots make her salsa, tortillas and tamales legendary in the Perez family. I like to think that some of their culinary DNA was passed on to me, giving me an eye for creating beautiful grazing boards.
I married the love of my life and long-time best friend, Jeremy, in December of 2010. We lived in Bixby for about 7 years before moving into South Tulsa. In 2016, we had our son, Stone Ryan DeLay, and he is the joy of our lives. We’re also expecting another little bundle of joy in November of 2020! When I’m not in the kitchen cooking or creating beautiful boards, I love just hanging around the house with my guys, or getting together with some of our closest friends and family in town.
To me, grazing boards are works of art, with colors and textures throughout. By making boards and boxes, I get the chance to present food in an original and stunning way, and I just love that! What started as a creative and artistic outlet, and originally just something I made for Jeremy on at-home date nights, led to something I shared with friends and family, and has just sort of snow balled into this business.
I’ve tapped into something very special to me, the perfect fusion of food, art and people. An absolute trifecta of things I love. These playful presentations are arranged with the most fresh and seasonal ingredients I can find, and create interactive eating at its best! I hope you truly enjoy the creations I make, and moreover enjoy the ones you get to share them with.
