Compass’22; Investment Knowledge Based Competition Series is organized by the Student Investment Advisory Team (SIAT) of Department of Accounting and Finance.

Phase 01 of the competition, “The Treasure Hunt” was successfully completed on 27th July 2022 by the participation of student groups representing all faculties and it provided a valuable opportunity to all participants to develop their leadership skills while improving investment related knowledge. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Thilini de Silva, Dean, Faculty of Business, Ms. Dilini Dissanayake, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Mr. Sulakshana de Alwis, Head of PhD Studies and all academic members of the Department of Accounting and Finance.

CIMA Business Games 🌟

The first edition of ‘CIMA Business Games with NSBM’ sponsored and facilitated by CIMA Sri Lanka concluded successfully on 24th July 2022 with the participation of 200+ students following the BM Accounting & Finance special degree at NSBM. CIMA Business Games competition laid out a platform for the undergraduates to identify their strengths and weaknesses in terms of strategic and creative thinking, analytical skills, teamwork and other essential soft skills that are crucial to survive and thrive in the corporate world.
More than 40 groups competed in the first round of competitions, and four teams emerged as finalists for the second round.
Team AL emerged as winners, Team W emerged as first runner up, and Team S became the second runner up.

Considering the need of grooming our undergraduates into holistic and employable graduates, DAF Pro unit of the Department of Accounting and Finance has organized a workshop series on Personal and Professional Development exclusively for the final year undergraduates of the department.

As the first session of the series, ‘CIMA Business Games’ will be conducted as a collaborative initiative with CIMA Sri Lanka on July 24, 09.00 AM onwards via Zoom.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for our undergraduates to improve and enhance their knowledge as well as their professional and communication skills under the guidance and assistance of academics and professional representatives with an outspread experience.
