Celebrations was a really successful set and it brought back some of the most nostalgic cards from the last 25 years of the Pokémon TCG. 🤩

However my favorite card from the set is this golden shiny Mew, which I pulled from my very first Celebrations ETB! 😍

It sits well protected in my new VaultX binder and I can’t stop looking at it… 😅

I remember vividly when I first heard about Pokémon in 1998, because that was the year we moved from Hungary to Luxembourg. I was 8 years old and it was impossible not to get in contact with it. First came the Anime, then the GameBoy Games, followed by the Trading Cards and Sticker Albums. 🤩

It was such a wonderful time discovering all the different secrets about evolutions and trading and where to find rare Pokémon etc. At school everybody was watching the series, playing the games, collecting/trading the cards… It was true Pokémania! 😁

For me the most memorable time was from 1998-2000 with Gen 1 and 2, I had the games, the cards, watched it on TV and then at the cinema, collected and traded cards and stickers. Somehow afterwards the hype died off at least for my generation at the time. Other well-known franchises were shaking things up and I didn’t continue my Pokémon adventures. 🤓

Up until Pokémon Go took the world by storm. I think this was the main catalyst for Pokémon to have such a renaissance that we are living today. That’s what brought me back to gaming and collecting video games. Since then I have again played through Pokémon Blue and then with the release of Let’s Go Pikachu I had another great play-through! 😍

With this post I am celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the biggest media franchise of all time! 🥳🥳🥳

The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time has been my favorite game ever since I first experienced this magical world of Hyrule with all of its wonderful quests and mysteries back in 1998! 🤩

This is a game I can revisit countless times and enjoy it over and over again. I am really not sure if there will be another game ever again that is so ahead of its time and that is crafted in such a magnificent way. 😍

My love for the Zelda franchise is endless and I would love to spend more time exploring every single one of them, but sadly that takes a lot of devotion and time I cannot necessarily sacrifice at the moment. 😩

The one game that has brought me the same amount of joy and made me lose and immerse myself fully into the world of Hyrule was Breath of the Wild! 😊

I have been collecting for the last 4 years and all this thanks to Zelda OoT that I had purchased together with a Nintendo 2DS back in 2017. It brought back all the memories of my childhood and how much these games meant to me. 🤗

As I had sold all of my consoles and games I felt a big emptiness, as of a part of my childhood would be missing. The only game I had kept was my original boxed copy of Ocarina of Time, that you can see on this photo! 🥰

Long story short, I love the Legend of Zelda more than any other game and with this wishing Happy 35th Anniversary to every single person responsible for making these awesome games come to life! 🥳

I am planning to keep this one sealed, as I have a dozen other ways of playing Mario Bros. and I am more of a collector at this point than really a gamer. 😅

I was always on the fence with clear Nintendo Systems, never really knowing whether I would like them or not. 🤔

If I needed to decide and I could only own either a clear or a solid colored system I would mostly go for a solid one. ☝🏻

It’s also unclear to me why Nintendo decided to release only one clear color for the GBC lineup and why they went for a color (Purple) which they already had as a standard one. 🤷🏼

It is funny how this berry coloured GameBoy Colour was the last one I needed to complete my PAL GBC collection, since it is the only one besides my kiwi green one that I had at one point during my collecting years. 😅

I almost felt like I wouldn’t get one, because I had sold it in the past not caring about it… 😩

But everything turned out to be fine and we got one! ❤️

My GameBoy Color collecting journey began with this grape coloured one. I of course had the kiwi, as it was the one I had as a kid. At first, when I started collecting, the other colours didn’t get too much of my attention. One day however a lady was giving away a rather big GameBoy package with many games including this purple GBC and a GBA SP. This was a few months back and I decided then and there that I wanted to have all EU variants of the GBC. So the hunt began! The challenge was not to spend any money, so they either needed to be free or part of a larger package where I could sell everything else to cover the base price. 😁

This was my very first GameBoy after having played the OG GameBoy Classic a couple of times at school. 🤗 I remember when I told my mom about wanting one with a Pokémon game (because all the kids had it at school) she pretty much immediately said: let’s go to the mall and get one. 😲 This was such a memorable day, because we did’t really have much money and I wasn’t spoiled at all with toys or video games, so this was huge. I wasn’t at all expecting her to be so cool about this. 😎 I thought I possibly needed to wait until I saved up for it or until I had my birthday or some other holiday. 🎁 I picked the Kiwi GBC and Pokémon Blue and was the happiest kid on planet earth! 🤩

I was born in 1990 and I have to tell you guys, that I had an amazing time during my first decade. 🤗

As I have mentioned before, here in Luxembourg where I grew up, we have experienced Pokémon (and everything else) in 3 languages: German 🇩🇪, French 🇫🇷 and English 🇬🇧.

With the evolution of squirtle it just so happens to be that the ones in my collection, each come in a different language. 😅

For me Pokémon started as a Series I watched on German television and therefore also played the games in German. Later on I switched to English mainly. French was never really an option, I barely know the names, but I do have cards and my sticker album was French too. ✌️

I somehow have difficulties enjoying new Pokémon games the way I have some 20 years ago. 🤔

I did replay the Blue Version on my Game Boy Color 2 years ago and I had a blast, same goes for Let‘s Go Pikachu. 😁

However when I tried newer games either on the 3DS or even Sword on the Switch, I just couldn‘t get in the mood of wanting to play for more than a couple of hours... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Pikachu is probably the most recognizable Pokémon in the world. 🌎

I wanted to create a follow-up to my post 2 days ago, with this photo of Pikachu and its evolved form Raichu. (I also would have put Pichu on here, but I don’t have that card.) ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I rounded things off by adding my yellow Game Boy Color, the Yellow Version cartridge, some matching energy cards and the Pokéball. 📸
