Our Commercial Public team has made huge progress on our City Hall project for the City of Chamblee. Our team demolished the old Police HQ and Civic Center in order to make room for the new 28,000 SF City Hall facility. This project will serve as the centerpiece for the city’s developing downtown master plan. We can’t wait to see the finished product!

Reeves Young delivers the facilities that keep our counties and cities functioning efficiently. Our approach enables the people working in these buildings every day to effectively focus on the important work they do for the community. One example of this approach is the Beacon Municipal Campus. This three-building campus contains an Administration Building with public meeting rooms, offices, and classrooms, a Police Headquarters, and a Municipal Court. It also features an Active Living recreational center with a gymnasium, community pool, and classroom space. All three buildings are connected by a central plaza for visitors and staff to enjoy.

Digesters, Dewatering, Aeration, and Appurtenances - it sounds complicated, but Reeves Young Water Resources makes building wastewater treatment projects easy. We recently assisted Barrow County with the expansion of the Tanner’s Bridge Wastewater Treatment Facility to 1.5 MGD. Design features included septage receiving, headworks, a splitter box, two sequencing batch reactors, equalization basin, dewatering building/boxes, digester, chlorine contact chamber, flow monitor, effluent pump station, and aeration and discharge into the Apalachee River.

Last week, our team was able to celebrate one of the biggest reasons we get up and go to work every day – our children! Our annual “Bring Your Child to Work Day” was a huge success and each child was able to enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, water activities, a bounce house, carnival games, cotton candy, and fun!

Reeves Young Industrial recently completed the Falcon Industrial Park located in Flowery Branch, Georgia. This design-build project consists of two Class A, tilt-wall construction warehouses on the same site totaling 642,000 SF. Building 100 is a 36’ clear height cross dock facility with 7” thick conventional slab design. Building 200 is a 32’ clear height front load facility with a 6” conventional slab design. The site also contains 180’ truck courts and large auto parking areas which required extensive site work, utility work, and the installation of several large retaining walls. The project also achieved LEED certification for both buildings.

Take a look at this week’s project. Our Water Resources team is currently working just outside of Nashville on the Gibson Creek Equalization Facility in Madison, Tennessee. The scope of the project includes the new construction of a 22 MGD pump station, a 10-million-gallon pre-stressed concrete equalization tank, and a diversion structure. Our team had to shore, blast, and excavate down 40+ feet next to the existing pump station for the new one to be constructed.
