OGUN ALTERNATE MEDICINE BOARD HARPS ON EFFICIENCY
Determined to sanitise the field of Alternate Medicine practice in Ogun State and ensure its public acceptability, the State Alternate Medicine Board (OGAMB), has inaugurated an eight-man committee to organise a training/re-orientation workshop for its members and personnel of security outfits.
The Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye who disclosed this at the inauguration of the committee in Abeokuta, said the Board and practitioners had deliberated on the need to put up a programme that would change the negative mindset of the public and broaden the horizon of security operatives on the practice of Alternate Medicine.
He said, ’’we have concluded all the necessary arrangements to organise a mega workshop and re-orientation programme for all the Alternate Medicine practitioners across the State in collaboration with security agencies".
The Chairman disclosed that the orientation workshop was paramount to the development of the practice, adding that the programme would not only help eradicate the act of ritual killing and rescue the sub-sector from social disrepute but also save it from quacks who had battered the image of the profession for too long.
He added that the workshop would re-orientate all the practitioners on their mode of operation, particularly on what the law permits them to do, expose them to their limitations and open up what security personnel would be expecting from them in line with the modern day practice.
Some of the participants, Chief Samson Soyoye and Mrs. Elizabeth Quodri commended the commitment of the Board towards taking alternate medicine to a greater height and assured of members' support to promot the practice.

Amosun loses ex-Ogun APC chairman, Chief Lemboye, others to Gov. Abiodun
Ahead of the 2023 general election, more loyalists of the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, have switched allegiance to Dapo Abiodun, the incumbent governor.
Leading scores of other leaders to join the incumbent governor’s team in Abeokuta on Thursday was an erstwhile chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Alhaji Tajudeen Lemboye.
Others are Chief Olu Odeyemi, Gbenga Adekanbi and Hon. Dotun Fasanya among other influential leaders from Ogun Central Senatorial District.
The former loyalists of Senator Amosun who were kitchen cabinet members of the former Governor, Ibikunle Amosun were received at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara, Abeokuta by Gov. Dapo Abiodun and other APC chieftains.
Addressing the returning chieftains, Gov. Abiodun commended them for their courage to “leave Egypt” and decision to rejoin the mainstream of the APC in the state and team up with him ahead of the general poll next year.
“You have got it right by taking this bold step in the sense that one cannot say because of sympathy you continue to stay with somebody and become useless. You should know what you want, where to get it and how to get it.
“We are passionate about the people’s welfare, wellness and well-being. We have been running an inclusive administration and even as you returned to the mainstream of the party today, we recognize you as party leaders who had been with the party from the inception.
“Politics is a game of who gets what, when, where and how; it is how to better your life and that of others. You cannot do politics solely by emotions. There is a limit to where lies and daydreams can take you. The reality is that APC has moved beyond what some local demi-gods think it is. Ogun State is our common patrimony and nobody can dictate how it is run for all of us. Power belongs to God and He gives to whoever he wants, at any point in time. I want to welcome you back to your house, Dapo Abiodun’s family and since you are not strangers, you will be promptly integrated,” Gov. Abiodun stated.
Chief Lemboye, on behalf of the returnees promised to leave no stone unturned to ensure total victory for Gov. Abiodun’s reelection.
He added that anybody who claims to be a member of the APC should abide by party rules and constitution. He warned violators that they risked disqualification. Lemboye said politics should be for service and not an avenue to pursue self-interest, adding that APC is a party of discipline, which would not tolerate disrespect to its guidelines and rules by anybody.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2022✊
Theme: Intergenerational Solidarity (Creating a world for all ages)
This year theme reminds us of a basic truth: we need people of all ages, young and old alike, to join forces to build a better world for all.
Youth Day represents an opportunity to remember young people's power to drive change in our country. I firmly believe young people are the ones with solutions to all social ills in our country. The celebration of this day should help encourage young people to embrace their power and help build the future.
Children are the future of a country and youth is the backbone of a nation.
We also need to support gender equality and expanded opportunities for young people to participate in civic and political life.
On this important day, let’s join hands across generations to break down barriers, and work as one to achieve a more equitable, just and inclusive world for all people.

PRINCE DAPO ABIODUN AND HIS GENUINE LOVE FOR ADO-ODO/OTA LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
There's no how we can talk of changes at present day without making references to what had happened in the past. Talking about where one is in a journey can only be appreciated by pointing at where one is coming from. This is not to talk about particular past governments but to appreciate the present.
Before this present administration came on board, life has been hell for the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota local government. As an indigene of Agbara town, the industrial hub of the state and country at large, I saw new investors turning around after visiting and existing ones moving out of the local government as a result of the state of our roads in Agbara industrial corridor. It was hard for them to bring in raw materials and as well take out finished products. This was a menace and disaster that befell us for the eight years of the immediate past government. The only two roads that was constructed were left totally uncompleted. I mean just two roads in the eight years reign with increasing human activities and exploding population.
There was this believe back then that the past administration wanted to frustrate development here to enable companies move the Sagamu corridor for reasons best known to them. Don't forget the Sagamu corridor is situated between Ogun East (Remo) and Ogun Central (Egba) i.e Sagamu linking Abeokuta the state capital.
I seen a true love for the people of my local government in Prince Dapo AbiodunOrg for his kind gesture. He could have also neglected with excuses if he was greedy and wanted his Remo clan developed at the detriment of others but Nay, he didn't. Instead, he chooses to approve projects that are mind building and development driven to Ado-odo/Ota without neglecting his zone and other part of the state. This is evident in the approach given to toad infrastructure across all the 20LGAs in Ogun state.
Of the 3 years of Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration, some more than 10months were eaten up by the pandemic and yet much was given by a willing and humble governor that genuinely wants to serve the people despite meagre resources.
To many residents of our local government who were complaining, mostly politically influenced and some who doesn't know more that has happened about governance failed to look at where we were coming from. If one doesn't look back at where he/she is coming from, such can't appreciate where he/she is or heading to.
Only in Ado-odo/Ota Local government...
1. The first 2 roads that was constructed by this administration were in this local government in Ota (The Osi road and Ikola-Navy road). These are roads of importance and economic growth. These roads link Lagos and help decongest the Abeokuta- Ota Toll gate- Lagos road as alternative routes.
2. The Joju By-pass to decongest the san traffic as link road for those travelling to Atan- Owode-Idiroko from Abeokuta
3. The Almighty Agbara-Lusada-Atan road, the most expensive one constructed by the Dapo Abiodun led government that has been nightmare to companies along the industrial seat of the state.
4. The establishment of a modern fire station at Agbara. The area that's highly dense with companies was without a fire service station before now.
5. The construction and renovation of more than 50 blocks of classrooms. School furnitures were also provided to some schools.
6. The provision of health equipments to Ota state hospital.
7. He also gave tax waivers to companies and their workers during the pandemic period. Don't forget this local government is an industrial local government.
8. The employment of our people into the teaching services
9. He created an enabling environment for investors through policies that has made investors to troop into the Local government. The roads network now complimented his efforts.
10. He gave due recognition to our traditional fathers unlike what we use to have in the past.
11. Operation zero-potholes along Sango-Atan road that has made free flow of traffic. The Sango-Oju/ore traffic is now a thing of the past.
12. The just approved Sango-Ijoko-Agbado road and The Sango-Toll gate road all measuring approximately 40km is what moved me to writing ✍️✍️✍️ this about a man with genuine love for my local government.
We crave for more as the local government with more industries and people that you continue to extend your love through infrastructural developments and human capital projects. You have indeed make us proud and we shall continue to sing your gospel to our people.

As part of effort to further uncover quacks and those with criminal tendencies in the field of Alternate Medicine practice, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board (OGAMB) has inaugurated taskforce to curb unlawful practices in the sub-sector.
The Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board (OGAMB), Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye made this known in Abeokuta during a-day workshop in collaboration with the National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with the theme: “The Impact of Selling and Preparation of Herbal Medicine in Nigeria”.
Olaleye said the move would enable members operating from various specialised fields to have separate taskforce that would be working with the State enforcement team, so as to flush out quacks and reposition the Sub-Sector.
The Chairman added that the enforcement mechanism put in place for Alternate Medicine practice in Ogun State, has become a must with immediate effect as stipulated in the law that established the Board.
“The rate at which the image of the practice is been dented by quacks due to carefree attitude of some practitioners would no longer be tolerated in the State. Quacks in the Sub - sector must leave the State now or they will be arrested and prosecuted by the law”, Olaleye said.
In his address, the State Commandant, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Commander Mathew Eije, noted that Alternate Medicine practice was as old as the evolution of man on earth and long existing before the presence of orthodox practice with lots of pride and respect but wondered where all the acclaimed greatness and prides are now.
He said his Agency was ready to wage war against drug abuse, warning trado practitioners to be very careful with what they sell to the public for consumption.
In his remarks, the State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi lauded the collaboration, affirming that it would go a long way at sanitising the sub-sector.
Oyeyemi said it is compulsory for all practitioners to join necessary associations that have to do with their practice and register with the government to be certified, adding that anyone who has not registered with the government is not qualify to practice in Ogun State and such a person would be considered as a criminal.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Chairman, NANTMP, Chief Samson Soyoye, commended the present administration for considering the health sector and the trado medicine as one of government's priority, saying the commitments of the Governor and the Board have inspired them to be more committed.
He assured that with the inauguration of the taskforce, his Association would be more dedicated to the practice of Alternate medicine
