It's been a good long while since I've shared an update. So here it goes...
This photo is from December 17, 2022. It marks a time filled with hope and big dreams.
We were in the middle of the Experience - iykyk.
So many big ideas. Big next steps.
We were pumped after listening to for 3 days and meeting so many people following their passions.
We were gearing up to make some major moves...
But life had other plans and we spent the remainder of the winter in North Dakota with family - which was exactly where we wanted and needed to be.
A lot has happened since December 2022. And I finally feel like sharing it.
So stay tuned for lots of latergrams filled with travels, what I'm working on, plus how I'm living my best .🤍

The sunrise over Mauna Kea did not disappoint this morning. The waves crashing nearby made it even better.
It made me think about where I was..in my head.. just a few years ago. Completely unaware of the possibility that I could be living and working in Hawaii now.
That’s just it, it didn’t even seem possible. But it was.
All it really took was me on what I wanted, making it a priority, the willingness to do something new and scary and taking the steps necessary to make it happen.
I won’t say that I feel lucky waking up to this view.
I will say that I am extremely grateful that I decided what I wanted, stated it out loud, and made it happen.

I’m not meant for cold weather….

Getting back into the swing of things this week. How many days does it take you to unpack after a trip?
It’s taking me longer than usual because I don’t need most of the clothes I brought - time to put my jacket, jeans, and sleeves away.
This is The Farm. 🤍
It took 3 days to get here.
A cancelled flight. Drove all night. A blizzard and icey roads.
But it’s all worth it to step outside and not hear a sound.
I’m taking this time to hibernate, simplify, and get back to some basics:
🤍 Quality time with those I love
🤍 Good restful sleep
🤍 Home cooked meals
🤍 Focusing on one thing at a time
** Do not compare your life to someone else's highlight reel. **
This is something I find the need to remind myself more often than I'd like to admit.
Then I get overwhelmed with the thought of trying to be picture perfect all the time.
Then I get overwhelmed with the thought of trying to be picture-perfect all the time.
Then I decide I'm perfectly happy without all of that - just give me some comfy yoga pants and good conversation and I'm good. :)
The top 5 things bringing me joy right now:
1. Charlie - especially when he gallops across the road when the wind is blowing. (I'm pretty sure he is experiencing pure joy in that moment!)
2. Walks outside - one of the best parts of my day is feeling the sun on my face
3. Reading - the sense of accomplishment and having learned something new feels really good
4. Laughing - a good meme that makes me laugh out loud can make my whole day
5. Handstands - I've been practicing against the wall for a few months and I am definitely making progress

It is not too late to make the rest of the year, the best of the year.

Ever wondered why positive people seem to have it all?
It has been scientifically proven that positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health.
Here are a few ways you can put positive thinking into practice:
Change: I've never done it before.
➡️ I haven't done it yet!
Change: It's too complicated.
➡️ I'll tackle it from a different angle
Change: I don't have the resources.
➡️ What can I try that might work?
Change: I'm too lazy to get this done.
➡️ I didn't fit it into my current schedule but I can reprioritize.
Change: No one bothers to communicate with me. I'll see if I can open the channels of communication.
With practice you can become more of an optimist and eventually your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance. (You might also find your less critical of the world around you.)

The best way to get what you want is to work towards it. Commit to yourself that you'll move toward your goals for ten minutes a day.
If you don't succeed, re-commit and do it again.
Keep going until you do succeed.
It doesn't matter if your actions are small.
It doesn't matter whether your actions are “right”.
It doesn't matter if you make mistakes.
It doesn't matter if you fail along the way.
It doesn't matter if there are other “better” things you could have done.
All that matters is that you do something — that you start moving in the direction of your dreams.
The problem with striving for perfection is that it's an impossible goals to reach and maintain. Instead just be the best possible version of yourself. ✨
No one is perfect.
