I cannot believe how much fun we had with Christina Sajous on Wednesday in Zoo Core's Broadway Summer.

We got to Chop to the Top and climb Mount Humongous and save the world together. It was some of the most fun my kids have had, ever.

No surprise that that night we bought The SpongeBob Musical Live and enjoyed it thoroughly, tracking Vasthy Mompoint's every move and costume change and of course recounting every detail Christina shared about the show as we enjoyed her performance as Sandy Cheeks thoroughly. It is almost unbelievable how relevant that show is to what is going on now. I can't recommend checking it out enough.

Christina will be joining Zoo Core's Broadway Summer 3 more times- including in just 45 minutes, today at 10am EST (7am Pacific) where we will do part 1 of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

It is truly the summer of a lifetime and you can still join!

I'm so grateful to The SpongeBob Musical and to Hamilton for filming their musicals. Being able to enjoy them means so much, now, more than ever.

We love musicals so much in our family that we watch the pirated stuff on youtube but we'd much rather prefer to be able to rent or buy a real recording. The youtube videos flourish without more access to officially recorded shows.

The youtube videos do not inspire me to go see the actual show. We've already seen Sponge Bob on Broadway and I can tell you that the official recording that was on Nickelodeon makes us want to be first in line to see it again live, on Broadway or on tour, if we ever get that chance too. It inspires incredible brand loyalty.

What would it take for more shows to follow suit???

A big thank you to Vasthy Mompoint for popping in to Zoo Core's Broadway Summer!

A special surprise- we got to learn the Broadway choreography for "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins Musical AND we got to be our own choreographers and improvise.

We've had fun turning our bodies into letters in Zoo Core in our magical mat movement but Vasthy brought our dancing alphabets to a WHOLE NEW level of fun!!!

Big thumbs up from the kids all around!

We listened to each other, learned from each other, laughed a whole lot, imagined and explored.

The kids LOVED being embraced as wonderful when feeling weird and they loved getting practice welcoming mistakes- powerful life lessons, medicine to these times that promptly went down with a whole lot of silly fun as sugar.

We are watching Mary Poppins - The Musical tonight in your honor Vasthy.

What an incredible 3 months it has been!

I could not be prouder of my children and of all the children who have come to Zoo Core- whether they are the central group who came almost every day, well over 100 classes, or kids who popped in from time to time.

I have learned so much from you! I am just in awe of all of the confidence and skills you have grown. I hope your parents enjoy the free mat Pilates trainer they now have living at home.

We have ONE FINAL Zoo Core for kids culmination event tomorrow at 3:30PM EST (12:30pm Pacific). ALL children between the ages of 5-18 are welcome!

Candidate for Mayor of NYC, Joycelyn Taylor, who is running to be the first female Mayor of NYC will join us to celebrate Juneteenth and do a QA with the kids on what it's like to turn nothing into a whole lot of beautiful something, what it's like to pick up the pieces from chaos and rebuild them into something more beautiful than ever AND to run for Mayor of NYC. We'll cap off the Juneteenth celebration with a hello from our tour guides in New Zealand and perhaps Hawaii or Mexico.

This morning, we met with our tour guides from Brazil, Thailand and England and we found out about the other countries they have lived in such as Germany, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, Kenya, Bahrain, Vietnam, Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Greece and more!

We also learned that one of our Zoo Core guides, Angela MacNeil Berry Koch (my aunt) was working as a nutritionist for the UN feeding children in the Sudan and Somalia during the famines that inspired the pop song "We are the world" and which the song raised money for. During that time Angela would walk around the camps with a guitar singing Old McDonald as children flocked to her because they loved the funny animal noises. All these years, I had no idea the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree.
