Wheatland 150th Challenge Fillable.pdf

To commemorate the City of Wheatland’s 150th Celebration, Soroptimist International of South Yuba (SISY) invites local high school youth to a challenge. Entries can be in the form of choice: essay, poem, short story, drawing, etc, but must relate back to the topic
of Women in Wheatland. Examples could be a focus on a local historical woman, a famous woman from Wheatland, a local woman that positively impacted your life, or a perceived role or part you believe women played in Wheatland’s history.

Entries will be judged, with a cash prize awarded to the winning entry(ies) on April 13th, 2024. - Please message us with your email address to receive a fillable PDF entry form or with any questions. We look forward to all of your creative entries!

Wheatland Community Calendar, 60th edition

Next year will mark the 60th edition of the Wheatland Community Calendar, a tradition of sharing community special occasions. This is the second year that Soroptimist International South Yuba is organizing the calendar and we are introducing some new methods to streamline the process.

The prices for 2024 are:
$10 per calendar
$1 for 2 Listings (due by October 21, 2023)

Soroptimist of South Yuba would like to invite you to our upcoming Speaker Meeting to learn more about CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates

When: Monday, September 25th at 6:30pm
Where: Pioneer Hall in Wheatland
Who: Nicole DeRubio

WHY: The goal of the CASA Program is to prevent abused, neglected, abandoned and at-risk children from becoming lost in the Juvenile Dependency and/or Delinquency Court system. They are coming to Yuba County and training for Yuba Casa starts October 3rd in Marysville, CA.

Applications will be accepted from South Yuba County area high school senior girls who are headed to college or trade school. It will be a cash award. The focus of this award is to honor girls dedicated community service and who will be continuing their path towards achieve economic empowerment after high school. others.

Thank you South Yuba for keeping this Wheatland tradition going for 59 years! We really appreciate the quick turnaround and awesome support from the community as we took this on at the last minute. Funds from this calendar will go into our Scholarship programs for local women scholars.
