A little late posting this, but a few weeks ago I put this lightning bolt on to a sweatshirt for Amelia. It’s a fun leopard print vinyl outlined in silver. I actually could have done with making it a bit bigger. I hope to put a few things on to some hoodies of my own, but I can’t decide if I want big and central or a little emblem. 🤔

A cheeky little morning off today (thanks to Sports Day being postponed due to the Great British Summer 🙄☔️) so made some cheerful bunting instead!

⭐️ TA DAAA! ⭐️
The quilt is finished! I have to say I am very happy with this. The colours, the fabric, it’s turned out exactly as I had hoped. Of course, up close and personal it’s not as neat as I would have liked, but it has been 100% made with love! It is now on H’s bed ready for sleepies!

Progress made tonight… trimmed the edges and pinned my binding! Now for the dreaded mitred corners! 😬 Wish me luck! 🪡🧵

I know it’s late but… the quilt is finally quilted!!! 🥵 I love my machine, but it has such a small gap, that trying to fit a quilt through it has been like a work out, and has taken far longer than I anticipated!
Now to trim it up, and bind the thing!! 😩 I’m sure I’ll love it when it’s finished!

It’s been a while since I last made any bunting, because all my spare time seems to be taken up with H’s quilt! (Quilting takes a loooong time I’ve discovered!) but here we have a lovely set, with the fabric provided by the customer. I’ve made a few sets for her now, which is really lovely.

Desperately trying to get on with H’s quilt!

Do you know, my favourite feature of this sewing machine is the speed regulator! I have a tendency to have a heavy foot, and then my lines are wonky! This slows me down and helps me keep better lines.

Well, here it is! 🥰 My first ever fully made quilt top! It’s not perfect so don’t look too closely 😜 but what it lacks in skill is certainly made up for with determination. 100% made with love! 🩷
On to the back, and then to buy the batting!
I’m so pleased with how this is turning out, the effect that I wanted is totally there. Love it!

My table isn’t big enough to measure and cut out really long pieces of material, so I’m breaking my back doing it on the floor, with the dog occasionally walking over it! Suddenly realised I need to get a wriggle on with this quilt if I am going to get help at Easter from my wonderful mum in law. 🤞🏼

Had the pleasure of making this set of bunting and getting a bit more to grips with the Cricut machine. Very pleased with the bee and how he turned out with my first attempt at layering!

A lady who has had bunting from me before wanted some to match a new blind in her kitchen. What a fabulous idea! So the customer provided the material for this, and I think it’s stunning.

Progress Update!

Phew! That’s the easy bit done! All the rows are done, now to sew them all together and 🤞🏼I line it all up correctly! I mean I’ve measured my seam allowances at every available opportunity and I think I’m all good but this next bit bothers me a bit! Get this wrong and H is going to have a wonky quilt! 😬

I saw this posted today in a quilting group I’m in. It’s in dollars, and some of the costs won’t apply to the quilt I’ve just started making, but then it also doesn’t include things like utilities etc.

It’s also made me think about the cost of the bunting. The labour alone is $15 an hour, so I really don’t make any money off them. Sometimes I don’t even cover the cost of the material. 😔
