Have you said "ahhhhh" yet today? I invite you to relax for just a moment and make that sound.
“There must be those among whom we can sit down and weep and still be counted as warriors.” - Adrienne Rich
In honor of National Poetry month, I include a line from Adrienne Rich to remind us (and this includes me) that when there is sadness, pain, frustration, stuckness, darkness, our human experience to feel these experiences is a form of bravery. It's not easy to go into the dark places, but we can emerge if we move through them with compassion and tenderness.
I encourage you to find a way to move through any frustration today by being kind to yourself, by letting the tears, or the cries, or the whispers, or the shouts emerge.

Yawning brings a boost of oxygen into the body, helps to stretch the face muscles (which connect to the pelvis!), and if you add sound you activate the vagus nerve which connects to social connection. Ahhhhhh....makes me want to...yawwwwnnnn......
I Worried
I worried a lot. Will the garden grow, will the rivers
flow in the right direction, will the earth turn
as it was taught, and if not how shall
I correct it?
Was I right, was I wrong, will I be forgiven,
can I do better?
Will I ever be able to sing, even the sparrows
can do it and I am, well,
hopeless.
Is my eyesight fading or am I just imagining it,
am I going to get rheumatism,
lockjaw, dementia?
Finally, I saw that worrying had come to nothing.
And gave it up. And took my old body
and went out into the morning,
and sang.
-Mary Oliver
"Life is easier with warmth. When we have integrated resonance for ourselves as our fallback, we don’t need to use props or substances to take care of ourselves. We don’t have to medicate ourselves with chocolate or wine or bourbon. When we come back to balance after we’ve had a hard time – without medicating ourselves we substances or behaviors, and without harming ourselves or others – we feel better, and we can make solid, well-founded decisions more often." –Sarah Peyton, Your Resonant Self
A gentle nursery rhyme can help you tap into your most comfortable, relaxed voice. And it can ease anxiety by tapping in to your vagus nerve! Feel free to try it with me.

Sound Passage: Embody Your Voice Your body is an archive: a collection of sensations, emotions, memories, stored within you. Sometimes we know how to release those we no longer want, and sometimes we don’t. But one tool can help. You are a body of echoes. If that seems silly, then pause for about 10 seconds to remember a momen
What an honor to have my original song "Let's Feed All Families" played on the River yesterday! The song was written to support The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, and, if you like the song, please donate! Song and donation links are both below. I'm also proud to be part of the Hilltown Charter School fundraising team that raised over $3000 for the Food Bank this year.
If you were listening to Monte on air yesterday you may have caught an original musical number. Local singer-songwriter Kelly Stewart Vogel music was inspired by the March to write the song entitled "Let's Feed All Families". You can listen to this lilting call to action at the link below!
And remember, just because no one is marching today doesn't mean you can't make a contribution. You can visit MontesMarch.com to donate any time. Thank you!
