We were given access to a delightful selection of Wilde documents and first editions by the lovely team at โ€” including a first edition Ballad of Reading Gaol! There were also more obscure objects like an engraving by Wilde that was found on his Magdalen room window! Greetings all,

Another repost from the OUDS page. The Wilde Soc Play is now a reality, and you can audition for it!! If you wanna do that, read below for more info:

___

!!! NARCISSUS AUDITIONS !!!

Green Carnation Productions is proud to have started work on its first play, Narcissus. Narcissus will be coming to the BT in early MT.

Narcissus is a piece of new writing that adapts the Greek myth to a Victorian setting. The Greek world had a huge impact on Victorian writers and thinkers. We think the Narcissus myth in particular is a good lens into the more neglected realms of the Victorian world. Narcissus, known for his looks and charm, loved by boys and girls alike, with a touch of arrogance and a mountain of confidence - itโ€™s easy to see why this myth was so attractive.
This is a play about identity, sexuality, the late victorian world, and much else thatโ€™s important. And thatโ€™s why you should all audition.

Auditions will be Tuesday and Wednesday of 8th week. Sign up through this form. Please indicate ALL THE TIMES you are available (the form doesn't actually let you do that, and I dunno how to fix it, so just indicate all the times you're free in the 'anything more' section). Please fill this in by 10pm Monday.
