Willobee Pines

Just delivered the new coffee table to the lake! When we bought the house, I furnished it mostly with hand me downs and things I found for free or very cheap so it's been fun to upgrade things as we can. I built this coffee table out of scrap wood from the sofa and filled the inset with some of the fossils from Lake Michigan that we have found over the years. I hand placed every single one 😅 just where I wanted it. Turns out epoxy is harder than I remember but luckily you can't see the mistakes in the photos!

Finished the basement rec room mural ahead of schedule! I'm super happy with how it turned out. What do you think of it?

Finally kayaked the Paw Paw River! It was a fun 1.5 hour trip. Hopefully my shoulders won't be too sore to keep working on the mural later on!

Big news! A new restaurant and ice cream place opened just down the road! We are so excited and can't wait to try it! Lots of tasty things on the menu 😋

Started the basement rec room mural today and worked for about an hour and a half. It is a 30' long wall...think I'll make my goal of finishing by Labor Day? 😬

Suki and Rico wanted to remind you that a) we allow dogs and b) there are two dog friendly beaches within just a couple miles of the house! Their favorite part of the day when we stay is going to watch the sunset. 🙂

Another new addition! We needed a bigger and better sofa and I had replacement cushions not being used, so I built a new sofa! Next up, a new coffee table and a mural in the basement game room.

Remember the pretty flowers I got last week? This week we put them in pots and finally got the string lights up in the backyard! We also did some more landscaping in the front. I love giving this house the love it deserves and seeing it come to life.

When the local garden center has a cart sale the day after you're finally ready to fill planters, you stock up! Can't wait to plant all these beauties next week!
