Skirting around the “no news links” I’ve simply taken a screenshot of the article. Swipe through to read!
“Riches of the North” acrylic 16x16 inches. This is my first entry for the . You’ll be able to purchase this piece for $400 CAD through the show (it’s in March!) and so many other amazing pieces by incredible artists all across North America. I’m super excited to be taking part of my first online show! I’ll be keeping you up to date on more details as they come.
“Breadseed Poppies II”
This is a smaller version of an 18x24 piece - and it has a wonderful story! During the always popular Sylvan Valley Artist circle tour this past September my booth was a buzz with happy shoppers and two women happened to want the same piece at the same time. Eventually the original went to one woman (who was actually my 11th grade Art teacher! Talk about full circle 😊) And this smaller version was secretly commissioned for the other woman (who actually lives in Scotland) by her two friends for a Christmas gift. I was so happy to recreate it for her!

I don’t think I posted this piece as a still and not just in a reel. I think reels are fun, but as an artist I think a still photo of a piece is a requirement to show your work on Instagram! Regardless of the fact that the algorithm requires both to grow, I am definitely partial to a photo 😊
Another Christmas commission reveal - “Twisty Tree” - an acrylic piece capturing a landmark tree that holds fond memories for those it was painted for.
I don’t do house portraits as much as I used to, but I usually have one or two commissions for them on the list at any given time. This is one I did for a Christmas gift! I especially love painting older character homes, like this beauty.
I offer these in a standard 8x10 size, easy to frame and a great size for gifting!
“Superior Moon” commissioned by local author . Acrylic on 30 inch cradled wood panel. This is a reimagined piece - bigger than the original (swipe through for the OG painting and the inspiration behind this one). I love the challenge of painting on a circular piece and truly love the way this one turned out.
Canvas prints! Look how cute these canvas prints turned out. Check my story for availability! Prices range from $33 for the 8x8, $40 for the 8x10s and $85 for the large Pinder piece. DM to claim. Great prices for smaller, gift-able pieces.
I painted this piece for last years Christmas card design and then put it away with my Christmas decorations and forgot it existed. I still really like it and thought I’d share. 9x12 acrylic on cradled wood panel.
A different take on my typical house portrait. This 18x24 piece captures the northern lights in their STEVE form - “Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement”. How cool!
“Coastal Trail Dreams” 16x20 Acrylic - Algoma Landscapes. I love taking liberties with colour and feel like this is one of those pieces - I’ve imagined the scene with jellybean rocks and cotton candy skies. You can see this piece in person at the Art Hub at Spring starting tomorrow Nov through til the end of December. Priced at $565. Prints to come. I hope you like it!
Very loosely based on a photo by my adventuring friend
Thought I’d put this one on the grid - “A Moment in Time” 12x36 inches acrylic on canvas.
Seeing my work in your beautiful homes is an incredible feeling! This was absolutely the best photo to get. Thank you Pam and Peter for sending it to me - it means so much.
Some more sweet spoons! Well maybe these are more fork-ish, but dang, Paul of did an awesome job carving them! I really enjoy painting them - anywhere I can paint a tree works for me!
Heading south from here for this commission - “The Spirit Catcher” located on Barrie’s waterfront. I really enjoyed doing this one. I spent a few years at different points in my life living in Barrie and it’s a truly amazing city.
Is it too early for this years Christmas card? Not for me! Here is a mock-up. I did a different tree last year but really wanted to do a Lake-Superior -Christmas-on-the-beach-at-night -with-the-moon-and-sky-you-love theme. I’m not sure if I’m done with this yet but it’s close. Stars? Maybe? Let me know what you think and drop me some more ideas for cards you’d like to see!
Thought this one deserved a spot on the grid. “Enchanted” 24x36 acrylic on canvas. This one will be framed in a black floating frame 😊🍄
I had SO. MUCH. FUN painting this one. A childlike dreamscape.
“Pine Islands” 24’ diameter acrylic on wood panel. Painting on this surface was different and fun. I’ll be bringing this piece to this Saturday. I hope to see you there!
Newest piece - “Noisy Bay” 16x20. Near to Wawa in the northern most part of Lake Superior Provincial Park.
-sold-
Elliot Lake Arts on the Trail is one week from tomorrow! Saturday Sept 30 - hope to see you out!
If you missed seeing on the Sylvan Circle Tour, you have a second chance on Saturday, September 30 in Elliot Lake for Arts on the Trail. Amy will have her beautiful art pieces set up at the Royal Canadian Legion from 9am-5pm.
“Rooster Rock” in Elliot Lake, Ontario. I’ll be participating in the Elliot Lake Arts in the Trail show September 30th - so I thought I should paint something specific to the area. Prints coming. Thanks to for the idea!
I’m happy to share this commission I did of Agawa Bay. Gifted to a bride from her sister ❤️
I do not love every piece I paint. I tried to use more accurate colours for this one and, ugh…. Like I teach my kids to say when they don’t like something - “it’s not my favourite” 😂 But maybe it’s right up your alley! Let me know if I should add some other bold colours or keep as is!
Algoma Landscape #21 - Pancake Bay. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to do this one. I struggled to come up with the best vantage point because the bay is just so big. I opted for a view from the day beach - capturing the white sand and driftwood that make this park so well loved by locals and visitors alike. Prints to come.
“Killbear” acrylic 16x20. I did a bit of experimenting with this one and I am pretty happy with how it turned out (Prints coming!)
Do you recognize this iconic Ontario tree?
*Fundraiser Alert*!! I posted this in a reel but just in case you missed it - I’m running a fundraiser for local triathlete to help her get to Spain later this month for the World Iron Man competition as part of Team Canada. Taylor is a dear friend and has helped our family in so many ways, so I’d love to help her back.
This piece depicts the coastal trail of Lake Superior, a training ground for Taylor. The colours, flowers, rock cairns, and location all have significant meaning to her and this experience.
8x10 prints are available now for $20 and all the profits go directly to getting Taylor to Spain! Just comment or DM and I’ll get right back to you!
Another small Lake Superior piece - 8x8 Acrylic. Some places on Superior have the softest, most wonderful sand. And others have incredible round rocks, worn by the weather. Both are great for exploring!
Just a little 6x6 poppy piece. Prepping pieces for upcoming September shows - I’ll have a good mix of florals and landscapes!
So excited to be part of this!
