❇️What’s your game plan for supplements? Using any? Don’t believe in them?

I take the following:
🔸 for potassium, magnesium, and sodium. Kind of essential on low-carb/keto.
🔹 + for lowering blood sugar levels/spikes
🔸 + needed especially if you sit behind a screen for work. If you’re outside and get lots of sunshine your skin can make it.
🔹 NAC lots of good benefits especially for replenishing antioxidants in the body
🔸 can lower stress and anxiety

💠It’s not easy to gulp down many supplements at once so tou can also look at combo packs such as the ones .co offers for and .

“Fat-free and low-fat food products fill out store shelves because fat is high in calories, eliminating it seemed like a good way to manage weight and improve health.

Unfortunately, added sugars and refined carbohydrates are often used to replace fat in processed foods. That adds up to a lot of extra calories with little to no nutritional value.”

Avoid trans fat and learn more about other types and how they affect your body.

Posted • Hey fam!! 👋🏼 Have you seen that post going around where it's a picture of a cube of beef and a piece of broccoli, and the caption says 100 calories of broccoli contains more protein than 100 calories of beef? That may be true, but it’s also misleading! That's because you'd only need to eat 1.5 ounces of beef to get 100 calories, whereas you'd need to eat 10 ounces of broccoli to get 100 calories!
🥦 I made this post to show just how silly it is to compare plants to animal foods. And before I get a ton of hate, here's the thing: I'm actually sort of kidding with this post, because broccoli IS insanely healthy. Yes, comparing broccoli to shrimp is idiotic. But, some people (or documentaries—cough cough Game Changers 😆) do it and I wanted to tackle that 💩.
😎 The takeaway: Eat lots of broccoli. Just don't kid yourself into thinking it would be easy to get all of your protein, iron, zinc, or any number of other important micronutrients with it. On the other hand, broccoli provides vitamin C, fiber, folate, and that wonderful genetic modulator sulforaphane I've talked a bit about—you'd be hard pressed to find those super important ingredients in beef!
🙇🏻‍♂️ Both can be healthy (and your average piece of broccoli is likely better for you than your average piece of beef). You NEED nutrients found in both. How you get them, well that's up to you! But let's try to be a little more truthful with our campaigning for our respective nutritional ideologies, how bout it? :)

Did you know your nighttime Resting Heart Rate (RHR) is an important factor in how ready and rested you feel in the morning?

Many things like alcohol, late meals, or even evening workouts could have an affect on your RHR.

One of the best things that an Oura ring monitors overnight is RHR. It really helps me to understand my RHR trend.

Typically the ideal trend is ‘the hammock’ curve (Figure 1). This is when your body relaxes and your blood pressure and heart rate begin to drop during your initial sleep stages and your heart rate begins to rise as you wake in the morning.

Figure 2 shows a non-ideal night with a downward slope; the sign that my metabolism was working overtime due to a late meal perhaps.

It’s been a while since my last post. I’d like to share with you the reason behind it and write a bit about my life over the last several months. I feel this page, as a personal blog of sort, should reflect both ups and downs of my experiences especially if it’s related to health (body or mind).

Since the beginning of this year, I have been in a tumble of bad events, which culminated with the corona situation. From a bad car accident (no injuries) to a big layoff at my previous workplace that affected my position, the stress level had only been inching up!

Struggling to deal with life when it turns upside down, I was proven wrong to think that things can’t get any worse. Sadly my mother passed away last month due to complications caused by her dementia and corona virus infection. The combination that fast forwarded her decline and ended her life within a couple of months.

She was a beautiful soul. Losing her was an immense grief but even more difficult was to experience her final days remotely via FaceTime (due to hospital lockdown); It really pushed my emotional limit.

The life struggles are always with us and have the potential to pull us down into despair and angst. But as I’m dealing with anxiety and emotional impact from all of this, I’m writing this post as a message of hope and finding a way to move forward:

1. Don’t get too comfortable in your routines. Status quo will not last forever.
2. Meaningful friendships in your life can offer you invaluable support when you need it.
3. Psychological stress affects your mental and physical health. Don’t let it go untreated. Reduce it in any way you can (meditation, exercise, yoga, talking to a mental health professional, etc.)
4. Persist in following a healthier lifestyle (diet, exercise, etc,). It can give an extra boost in strength when you have to deal with hard times in life.
5. Ketonology will continue to advocate for all the good things in life... especially good food. I learned to cherish it and to love the food making journey from my mother. This, will always stay with me!
