To make our Gerua pants, artisans used fine wood block printing techniques combined with eco-friendly plant-based dyes.
Wood block printing utilises unique plant-based dyes and formulations. These plant-based dyes get their colours from local flora like roots, berries, barks, leaves, and plant pigments.
These dyes don’t just make your apparel look great, but are also eco-friendly!

Bagru block printing was introduced to the Jaipur region of India by the Chippa clan. Their ancestral occupation has been the dyeing and printing of fine, handcrafted clothes.
As custodians of this age-old craft, they have skilfully kept the art of wooden block printing and natural plant-based dyes alive in the northwest regions of India.
The featured cotton kurta is a fine example of their work.

The beauty of Bagru print begins with a wooden block.
Patterns and motifs you see on the fabric are carved on wood and then meticulously hand-imprinted on the fabric, block by block, by skilled artisans called ‘Chippas’. Only the best natural dyes are used in the process.
The Bagru craft has been passed down for generations in the Bagru region of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.
