It's almost time for The 80s Ladies- Halloween on Halloween! It's going to be a very special night, with special guest singers, a costume contest, dance off AND another secret surprise! Come on over to Mercury Music Lounge after Trick or Treat!

Victory Cake is not a new band, but we are newly on Facebook! And playing more often... for example, as the featured artist at Thematic Thursday Open Mic tomorrow! We'll play right at 8, and the theme is "Royalty."

The show tomorrow at the Rosehip Room in Tremont is going to be something really special. We're all going to play on each other's hit singles, which I've always wanted to do!

My time has come! I'll be the featured artist at Manic Monday TONIGHT! Open mic is from 9-midnight, I'll be playing a special 5-song set around 9:15. I'm bringing my keyboard, so you know it's a special occasion! (And you know at least a couple of the hits I'm gonna play!)

Psyched for the 80's Ladies show this Saturday! 9pm, Mercury Lounge - the theme is 80's Prom, and yes, there IS a costume contest. Don't mind me, I'll just be planning my outfit for the next three days...

My third and final Skillshare course is live! I saved the best for last- this is a course to help you write songs in one hour just like I do.

I've put a lot of thought into this course in particular, and I'm really proud of it. I've focused on being practical- step by step, how do you actually, really, sit down and write a song? We often imagine that creativity is an innate gift, but I see it as a skill that you can practice and improve, like any other skill. I don't think that takes the "magic" out of it - it just makes the magic more accessible!

So- this is my complete, step-by-step process for writing songs in an hour or less. Many of you have watched (and HELPED) me do this many times. Now it's your turn. I can't wait to hear what you write!
