"A benefit compilation of Finnish punk & hardcore bands in support of underprivileged youth"
Trying to make this a yearly thing so, it's January 31th again, time for Fast Decade benefit compilation!
This years charity was an obvious choice even though it came with a heartbreaking cost: Sadly, our friend and longtime punk rocker Jarno "Jarspis" Saarinen suddenly passed away at the end of March 2019. Jarno was singer / bassist and the driving force self-titled JARSPIS-band, a virtuoso trio that mixed fast punk rock and even faster rapped lyrics. Also he was a bassist of rockband Huuto! which was recently the warm-up for Therapy? Finland tour.
Jarno was a counselor at Elämäni Sankari ry organization that works in the field of substance abuse prevention. Located in Hyvinkää, Finland, the organization focuses on giving custom made lectures for youths in elementary school level and gives tools for professionals and adults who work with youths.
Elämäni Sankari started a fund in Jarno's honor dedicated to help underprivileged youth (in Finnish):
