With this flow you will release all that no longer serves you. Find your inner peace by going deep into tension releasing postures. Through wavy movement we connect the breath with the body to inhale all the postive energy and to exhale all the negative. 🎨Hiroshi Yoshida 吉田 博, was a 20th century woodblock printmaker and is considered one of the most important artists of the Shin-hanga style 新 版画. This means "new woodcuts prints" reviving the traditional ukiyo-e. The style's influence comes from European Impressionism. A good example that there is mutual influence in art from all over the world!🌍
Artists of the Shin-hanga style adopt elements of this such as light and the use of a fixed theme as seen here. This 1904 woodblock print shows a dreamlike scene of two young women looking at the kumoi cherry blossoms at Mount Yoshino east of Osaka.🌸

Finding balance is a beautiful way to connect through the ground underneath your feet to your whole body.🍃
For me, balancing has been the most difficult because of my scoliosis, but at the same time it is the most rewarding challenge I have every day I step on the mat✨

And even on this rainy evening you can hear the birds singing. Despite the thick dark clouds that make the sky disappear, it is inevitable that spring is coming.🐰💕
When I was in Japan I saw Monet's lilies in a room that could only be entered barefoot. The walls were covered by the large paintings. The details of the lilies in the water was enough to sum up a season. One detail was, as it were, the whole world.🌸
Beauty really is in the little things. In Japan they cherish 'wabi sabi', where being aware of the imperfect and temporary makes you see the beauty of life.✨
I look forward to sit in the sun with a book on my lap, just like this girl in the painting, but for now I will be grateful for the sound of spring between the raindrops.🌧️🐦

These are four poses that I use very often while practicing yoga. Without being aware of it, our body holds a lot of physical as well as emotional tension. We hold much of this tension in our hips and glutes. Try to take a moment each day to do at least a few stretches in this region of ​​your body. As an art history student I find it shocking how few female artists are discussed throughout history. Our teachers try to discuss female artists (as well as other unrepresented groups), but the standard narrative of the history of art is unfortunately so carved that it has apparently become a major challenge to change this narrative. Only recently have women been given the opportunity to be part of the art history books. And when they are in the books, they are often under a separate category like 'women artists' separated from, for example, 'the great masters'.🙄
This painting is by Mary Cassatt. This is one of my favorite impressionist paintings from 1893. The composition and use of color is strongly inspired by the Ukiyo-e, the Japanese prints that had become very popular during this period in Europe. Mary Cassatt always painted from a woman's perspective; the household chores, motherhood, seascapes from the balustrade etc. It gives a picture of what the world looked like of a woman in the 19th century, nevertheless of a well-to-do woman who was given the opportunity to paint.
