Talaghay: Lighting the Way Against Illnesses and Diseases ๐
On July 6, 2024, San Juan Elementary School hosted an inspiring event featuring insightful speakers who shared vital knowledge on illness prevention and first aid. Locals from Barangay San Juan and Barangay Calero came together to listen and learn.
The first part of the event revolved around the prevalent diseases during the rainy season. Nurse Lilibeth Leoncio from the City Health Office of Malolos discussed about the causes, symptoms, and precautions of diseases such as Dengue, Cholera, Amoebiasis, and Leptospirosis.
Consequently, our partners from the Bulacan Youth Council Task Group represented by their President, Scout Xyrus Kiel Cruz, and our very own, Supporting the Environment Chair, Scout Jarvis Andre Balancio shared about the things to do before, during, and after flash floods. First aid techniques were also discussed among the participants such as its purpose, the doโs and donโts, and proper procedures.
The event was concluded through a raffle draw for the participants. Prizes were provided by our major sponsors, RQL Funeral Services and Boy and Jolly Dressed Chicken.
Together, we are empowered to build a healthier future! ๐ช๐ฉบ

๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐: Baka-Wan Thousand
Hosted by the Rotaract Club of Malolos Hiyas - Karatig
Area of Focus: Protecting the Environment
Date of Project: May 19, 2024
Baka-Wan Thousand aims to plant over a thousand mangrove seedlings in the bordering areas and bays of Bulacan. This initiative helps reduce soil erosion, improve biodiversity, and absorb impacts from storm surges like massive waves and typhoons. By planting mangrove trees, we protect the residents of coastal areas from heightened floods and raging waves, especially with the continuous landfilling for the Bulacan Airport and rising sea levels.
Through this project, we TRANSFORM vulnerable coastal communities into resilient and sustainable environments.
