Garie Lewis Comedian
This page is for those interested in my stand up comedy. Upcoming, recent and past humor attempts. Garie doesn’t have to prove to you that he is funny. He’s real.
*Many thanks to Comedian, Booker, Author and Friend Steve Sabo for this bio!
“Garie Lewis is the best comic you probably have never heard of. Sheltered away in the cozy village of Sioux City, Iowa, Garie is a throwback to a time when you didn’t have to be outrageous to be funny. He hits the stage and works the crowd like a jazz artist… calm, cool, collected and oh so smooth. He already knows it.
Admittedly, I am only absent-mindedly listening to the Lions/Bucs game while I putz around the apartment….but ummm….maybe it’s just me…but I’m pretty sure I just heard Collinsworth say something about a linebacker going down on a quarterback.
Just me?
Jonathon Owens’ wife sure taught him how to take a tumble!
Ok, enough of this humbleness!
I’m going to brag.
I went out of the Tree Fort of Solitude wearing actual PANTS pants Wednesday.
No drawstring!
I’m not saying all of the solitude of the last 4 years has caused me to start getting on my nerves….
I don’t mind talking to myself I just wish myself wouldn’t talk back in a bad British accent.
I guess the worst thing about giving up store bought bread during an Iowa winter is not having any snow boots.
If you’ve been around comedy as long as I have the name
Electric Zoot Suit on the bill meant you were going to have a fantastic time and laugh your ass off.
I got to work with those boys a couple times or ten and grew to think of them as friends.
Spy tactics at the hotel in Cedar Rapids trying to find Andre the Giant and get a photo with him and Slappy Pudnik…amongst the best stories from the early days.
So much fun.
Well, the Zoot Suit split up a long time ago and I’d fallen out of contact with them until Facebook…but, today…my thoughts are of two idiots going floor to floor listening for the ringing phone in a rasslers room while the third idiot stood at the front desk holding onto the phone…for as long as it took.
Rest Paul Orwick…
Thinkin’ about you too, Walter.
❤️
To save a little money I bought a whole chicken today.
Poor little thing…I feel like I should notify its parents.
I prefer a window seat when I fly.
A CLOSED window…seat…thank you.
Please specify that on my next ticket.
I’ve got a really nice Stanley Thermos if anybody wants to…
I dunno…
pay me way too much for it…or somethin’.
I’m not saying I’m old but when I was a kid I used to hand roll my dads cigs for him for Christmas.
My most memorable NYE?
Easy.
1974.
Both my balls dropped.
A So Dak comedy road trip in 10 Polaroids.
Tonight!
Back to the beach!
Pale, restless and 20 years younger!
Look at me…I’m cute again!
Rough morning…sick…no details…cuz they’re gross.
But, I managed to get out of bed and walk over to Pierce Street Coffee Works to meet Josh Lebowich for the annual taking of the photo as I hand over the bounty from A Very Garie Christmas 7: A Wassail Wang-Dang-Doodle!
That’s $1,005 there in Josh’s hands…all because of a great show, great people and community support.
Thank you all for making it a successful event!
If you couldn’t make it to the show please feel free to donate to my FB fundraiser for Siouxland Soup Kitchen…I’ll start one for the The Warming Shelter as soon as the current one is complete.

I’m coming back to the Shady Beach and I’m coming back 20 years younger!
I miss when football wasn’t so f**kin’ romantic.
Thanks to Valerie and Paula I had a months supply of cookies and candys for about 23 minutes last night.
Before I pack it in for the night I want to say this….
I am so damned grateful for everyone that made A Very Garie Christmas 7: A Wassail Wang-Dang-Doodle a great success.
There was love in that room tonight.
I’m very happy.
Thank you to everyone that supported the show.
It was a very fun night.

A Very Garie Christmas 7: A Wassail Wang-Dang-Doodle is tonight.
Tomorrow night is the one and only A Very Garie Christmas 7: A Wassail Wang-Dang-Doodle…the best little holiday party in town.
It has really snuck up on me this year.
I dropped the ball on promotion and just haven’t handled everything as well as I have in the past.
Not gonna lie…LC has been the culprit there…I just couldn’t focus.
But that’s been done and now I’m going to ask you to share the event page and try to whip up some last minute excitement.
