Don’t just sit on Facebook this morning. If you’re in North Alabama, get outside and enjoy our wonderful weather while we have it. 😁
I ran into a common issue while talking to a WoodmenLife member today.
If you only have life insurance through your work, what happens if you get sick and can’t work, you get laid off, or somehow loose that job? Can you take your coverage with you? If you can take it with you, do you come out of the group and if so, could you afford it?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you should check. If you’re the bread winner for the family and people are depending on you, you need to know this.
Earlier this evening, it was my pleasure to have been invited by Chief Jimmy Jones to Section Volunteer Fire Department to provide supper and conduct an American Flag presentation. I even got to reconnect with an old friend who I used to go to church with.
To the Men and Women who selflessly serve the town of section and the surrounding communities, I would like to say a simple Thank You!! You provide a service that is a vital part of this community and your efforts do not go unnoticed!!
Need a new American Flag for your church, school, or fire department? Contact me and I will setup a presentation with your group. 256-558-0633.
I would like to introduce the Baher family, or you may know and recognize them by their business name, “Lena’s Rolling Kitchen”. Chris and Lydia’s family is featured on the cover of our WoodmenLife Magazine for the month of June. I’m very proud to be their WoodmenLife Representative and it was my pleasure to assist them in getting the coverage they needed for their family.
The Baher’s operate their food truck business at private and public events around the North Alabama area and serve some of the best food around. If you’re a WoodmenLife member and get our magazine, they’re story is definitely worth checking out. If you don’t get our magazine, contact me for details on how to get your copy.
What an awesome Morning at the end of the school year to have a teacher appreciation at Asbury Elementary. These teachers work so hard to make sure our kids get what they need and at WoodmenLife, we appreciate their service and wish them the best over the Summer.

In hopes that we never forget the ultimate sacrifice that so many made for our freedom!! Thank You!!
Yesterday, I had the honor to present two WoodmenLife American History Awards to a couple of very deserving 5th graders at Asbury Elementary. I also give a huge Thank You to Bruce and Jane Underwood at Top Notch Trophies in Guntersville for doing a wonderful job on the engraving of the names. They’re definitely deserving of business spotlight of the week!!

I’m glad my stylist is home from college for the summer. 😁 At my request, we started outside on the deck, but moved into the screened porch because the lighting was better. He did a fine job!!
It was great to meet the men and women of Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department last night and present them with a new American Flag from WoodmenLife. As a retired firefighter, I was also proud to see all the new turnout gear and the new apparatus the department has recently received. The citizens and the communities surrounding Macedonia are blessed to have you and the needed service you provide.

Taylor and I hosted a teacher appreciation event at the Sloman Primary School in Douglas yesterday and it was wonderful to show WoodmenLife’s appreciation to this fine group of educators. We hope everyone within your school system has a wonderful end to the school year and a great Summer vacation!!!
Don’t forget about the First Responder Appreciation Breakfast at Arab Fire Department this morning at 8am!!
My business spotlight this week was an easy one because not only is this guy a friend, but he’s a WoodmenLife member as well. Thank you Rusty for the service you and your Canopy Realty team bring to our area and as Rusty always says, “Let’s Make It Happen”!!

“We Are Marshall” is one of my favorite movies, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this post. I think it’s so awesome that Marshall University, a NCAA Division 1 participant, utilized one of our WoodmenLife 30x60 American Flags during several of their home games last year.
It makes me proud to work for such a patriotic fraternal organization like WoodmenLife!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If you’re a school administrator and want more information, reach out to me and we can discuss scheduling this display for your upcoming fall football Fridays.
We want to thank our local WoodmenLife for supplying the American Flag for numerous games this year. 🇺🇸
Well, I can’t think of a time this has ever happened, but Wyatt and I both had concerts last night in different cities. 😂 Us Pettry’s do stay busy. 😂
This was an awesome event to be able to work together with Colter Calhoun- WoodmenLife Rep. Alabama. We would like to thank Chief Daryl Fox and the guys from A-shift for taking the time to receive their new American Flag and to learn what solutions can be provided for them and their family’s through WoodmenLife.
“Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the citizens of Hartselle!!”
I found the neatest place in the Town of Snead today. Sharecroppers Coffee & Creamery. Thank you Holli and to your team for the best white mocha and listen, they have the best little gift shop too. For my local business spotlight of the week, couldn’t have found a better place!!

The local business I want to spotlight this week is Brindlee Mountain Pools LLC. Vickie helped me out with our pool this week and I can now say I’ve found my new pool store. Thanks Vickie for your help!!!
Since WoodmenLife supports our local communities, it’s only fitting to spotlight local businesses that provide the products and services that makes our communities better.
Check them out at Brindlee Mt Pools

This past Monday, April Fools Day, I was able to present a new 3’x5’ American Flag to the members of the Guntersville Rescue Squad. This is a great group of men and women who provide many needed services in our city and surrounding areas when needs arise. Thank you for what you do!!
Here’s a new tool to promote opportunities for our Celebrating Red, White and Blue (CRWB) program. The CRWB presentation utilizes an oversized (30x60’) American flag at patriotic events during opening ceremonies and/or for the national anthem. Event showcases our love of country and how we look for ways to express our American pride together. It’s also an opportunity to recruit volunteers to help flag furling, carry the flag during its presentation and unfurling. We sincerely hope to encourage and promote, how to display, honor and, with education, instill a true appreciation for flag history and of our country’s nation emblem, “The Flag of the United States”.
To start the requesting process, qualified organizations simply use the QR code or go to https://www.woodmenlife.org/extras/flag-form/
You can also call me direct to assist in the request and scheduling process, 256-558-0633
Yesterday evening I was able to catch up with my firefighter brothers at Nixon Chapel Volunteer Fire Department and present them with a new American Flag for their station. This department provides a vital service to their community and like WoodmenLife in serving our members in communities around the country, these guys serve the members of their community without hesitation, with courage and with honor. Thank you guys for what you do!!
While servicing and visiting with members this morning, I was able to stop by and visit with two other WoodmenLife members, Caleb Still, his Sister Meagan. Their family’s are not only WoodmenLife members, but his local business provides a needed service in our community. Thank you both for being there when we need you!!

It was a great experience to be invited to Elevate at our home office this week. The great training we received, getting to know other WoodmenLife Reps, and learning how to better serve our members were the best parts of the trip.
I Voted, and to my true fashion, I ended up talking to several people and forgot my sticker. But, I'm also not one to let that derail me, so I've made my own!! 😎
I would like to thank Chief Bryan Baker and all the members of the Asbury Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to present them with an American Flag to fly over their station. You have a great bunch of men and women that serve and I thank you for all you do in the Asbury Community. 🚒🧯🧑🚒⚕️
In the presentation picture, from left to right is WoodmenLife Representatives Taylor Beck and Buddy Pettry, and accepting the American Flag is Chief Bryan Baker.
I would like to thank James Edwards and all the members of the Alder Springs Volunteer Fire Department for having me out yesterday evening. Having the opportunity to present an American flag is one of the highlights of my career with WoodmenLife. Thank you guys for all you do for the community of Alder Springs!!
