The barbarian tribes have a long history of honoring their fallen leaders. When one dies in battle, it is assumed that such a death earns them a place in the afterlife where they can live out their greatest victories for eternity. However, when one dies of sickness or old age, their soul is thought to be at risk of returning as a vengeful spirit. When this occurs, the leader's greatest warriors embark on a grand hunt in the leader's name. Wielding a bone dagger carved from the femur of the lost ruler, they seek out a worthy foe to slay. Upon felling the beast, they deliver the killing blow with the dagger right to the heart. This allows the leader's restless spirit to follow the beast's as it travels to the place where those who die in battle go.

When Ravog, the leader of a small tribe of giants was struck down by a horrible plague, his people feared for his soul. Their finest warriors were rendered weak and crippled leaving no one to deliver Ravog's soul to the afterlife. With no other options, they ventured to the small town of Stone's Crossing. They stood at the entrance of the small hamlet and demanded they send their strongest warriors to face them. The people, being nothing but farmers and craftsmen, were lucky that a group of adventurers just happened to be staying at the local inn. They begged them to face the giants and save them from destruction.

The Arena of Azago is known far and wide as the place to go for bloodshed and violent entertainment. Cities all across Arden send their most dangerous prisoners to Azago in the hopes of deterring future offenders. Recently, one convict has risen to the top of the arena. Known only as The Lion, this lone warrior has slain every opponent the arena has sent to face him. Fearing he may rally the people to his cause, the arena's owner has sent out bounty hunters to find new blood to face him. These veteran hunters have begun dragging in anyone with a bounty on them... and some who just look like they could put up a fight. Will the Lion be defeated finally? Or will he continue to reign supreme over the Arena of Azago?

The Cressian forests are known for their quality lumber exports. For years, the city states have profited off their logging efforts and now the forests have begun to thin from the greed of those in charge. Recently, those working the lumber camps have reported plants and animals becoming hostile and attacking them as they attempt to work. Shipments of wood have slowed and profits are falling. The collective city states have decided to put out a reward for whoever can stop these attacks and restart the flow of lumber from the camps. As a starting point, whoever takes up the quest will be sent to a forward camp deep in the forest where the attacks have been the worst.
