Teacher, Mums, Dads, etc!! Look at these clever crayon rocks! I adore these.
Designed by Jessie, a Brisbane based school teacher, these crayons are shaped to help teach pencil grip and strengthen hand muscles as a child colours.
Because they’re made out of soy wax, they’re supple enough for developing hands to mark the paper easily, without applying much pressure - an important feature for children with low muscle tone and dyspraxia.
Their colours are also made naturally and contain no phthalates (plastics) or synthetic additives.
Jessie works with over 1200 Australian classrooms and therapy practices and her mission is to give every child the opportunity to write and share their own story ❤️❤️❤️
Like so many Brisbane businesses, these guys really need our support at the moment.
If you have kids or are looking for a FANTASTIC gift for a family, please head to crayonrocks.com.au to .
And give them a follow at 🌈🎨
Guys, can we get around this beautiful business? Look at all the beautiful things Kelsey stocks at - a small, rural lifestyle store offering women and mens clothing, accessories, homewares, kids toys, the cutest baby stuff and other goodies.
They are currently cut off from the world, as the floods have caused landslides blocking the mountain road into their town.
Of course, this all comes after they’ve clawed through drought, bushfires, covid, flooding (and now more flooding).
It’s looking like it will be a month before the road is cleared. And while Kelsey says she’s counting her blessings, I think she could use more than a little love right now.
As she says, how business owners have all held on “is a miracle”.
Head to or themountainmerchant.com.au to - and with stunning homewares, cute gifts, and delicious cocktail mixers like these, how can you not?!
Once again, we’re watching on as horrific climate events destroy homes and businesses across Australia.
To everyone affected by these floods, can we be of assistance? Are you a business that sells products online? Can we profile you?
And if you haven’t been affected by the floods but want to help, would you like us to start sharing businesses? If we profile them, can you jump in to support them?
Let us know.
We’re here and we’d like to help in any way we can.
In the meantime, PLEASE consider donating to . They are a non-profit working with over 4000 big charities and grassroots organisations to get funds and clothes/furniture out to people who need it as soon as possible. People go to GIVIT and tell them what they need and GIVIT delivers.
Even $5 will go a long way. Please give what you can.

STOP EVERYTHING AND READ THIS BECAUSE THERE IS A DOG TAKING HIS EXTRA FLOOF AND USING IT TO KEEP OTHER PUPPERS WARM. YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT.
is a business founded by Pyrenean Mountain Dog Kobe, who lives in the Blue Mountains with his human Muriel. As you'll see from the first pic, Kobe is not short of floof. So him and Muriel decided to create a range of dog and even human garments made from recycled dog fur. 🐕🦺
Before you have a breakdown, NO DOGGOS are harmed in the making of Kotes by Kobe! Rather, fur is collected from groomers, breeders, and even individual dog parents who have excess floof to give.
Fur from short-haired pups gets made into lining for parka-style puffer jackets, while longer fur gets blended with other natural fibres and spun into yarn for their knit range.
We are rocking back and forth trying to comprehend the cuteness of doggos with excess fur helping chilly puppers to stay cosy in the winter months. It's simply too pure for this world and we're not crying, YOU'RE CRYING!!! 🥺
If you’d like to make a fur donation, email Muriel at [email protected] or you can at 🐶
Handbag p**n, coming in hot from . 👜
Strap the Label was founded by Crystal in Melbourne as an antidote to fast fashion. The range offers three different bag colours and a range of straps that are interchangeable, all made from eco-friendly, ethically sourced vegan materials.
Design your bag, your way, or buy one bag and multiple straps for a range of looks! 😍 Yet another ripper Mother's Day present, although it would be rude not to buy one for yourself as well!
We're still checking in with businesses affected by the bushfires over a year ago, and today we're bringing you an updated fromh Lara who runs on South Australia's Kangaroo island, with the help of her beautiful family! 💛
Bush Organics harvests premium antimicrobial raw honey that is cold pressed with native flora. Their honey is cold extracted from wooden hives, harvested from Ligurian bees, to retain the rich live enzymes, probiotics, natural vitamins, minerals and amino acids. 🐝🍯
In addition to edible honey, these clever folks also make gorgeous organic skincare and beeswax candles!
The property of Bush Organics sits in the vast parcel of high conversation heritage listed bush land in the north west of Kangaroo Island. This beautiful bushland was sadly destroyed by the bushfires at the end of 2019, which saw Bush Organics lose 1/3 of their bee hives, organic orchard, food forest, workshops, tanks and irrigation systems.
Since then, they have slowly been trying to rebuild their lives and their business, so every little bit counts for this amazing business! Their products make the perfect Mothers Day gifts too, so by visiting .
Happy shopping honey! 😘
Happy Easter long weekend from our family to yours!
It’s too late to order these stunning Easter eggs this time around, but we gotta say, this loot from is making our Easter Egg collection look a little basic.😳
Luckily these clever country folk make spectacular chocolate all year round! Check em out and stay safe over the long weekend! 😘

OMG it's a doggo! We're big animal lovers here at so we loved checking out - a gorgeous range of care products for your furry little friends. 🐶 🐱
Founded by Melbourne-based Rachael, Houndztooth was born after Rach's staffy Hugo suffered from lifelong skin allergies. When her next pup Stella came into her life, she didn't want her to suffer the same skin issues, so she created a natural, Australian-made range of care products for dogs with sensitive skin, including grooming products and supplements.
Each product is designed and formulated with the highest quality natural materials and ingredients, because our furry friends only deserve the best! 🐕🐩🐈
Rach has named her grooming line is named after her past beloved dogs and cats who have since crossed the rainbow bridge - e.g. "Hugo's Blend" and "Charlie's Blend No. 3." Excuse me, I think I have something in my eye. 😭
Pamper your pooch and look after their skin at the same time with . You're also going to love their gorgeous leashes and marble dog bowls. Check them out and to support another amazing Aussie small business! 💙
How gorgeous is this wooden bath tray? It was this product that spurned the brith of Agatha's business, , a small Melbourne business that focused on sustainable timber homewares that are beautifully hand finished.
Launched in February of 2020, moments before "the madness began," the timing couldn't have been worse for Agatha's burgeoning business. With her products designed in Melbourne and proudly and sustainably crafted by Indian makers, Covid-19 saw her shipments delayed by 6 months, and when product did finally arrive, many of her new boutique stockists were still shut.
On the plus side, with more people at home upping their self care game, Agatha's gorgeous wooden bath trays were a hit and helped her to get her business off the ground. also make beautiful homewares and small entertainment pieces like cheeseboards, serving bowls and beautiful table risers that will have your next entertainment spread looking chic! 🍇🧀🥖
We're thinking the bath trays would make an EXCELLENT Mother's Day present.... yes, we're getting in early but it'll be here before ya know it! by visiting and clicking the link in their bio. 🛁 ☺️

For today's update of "where they are one year later" - we're checking in with Karen and Gav, the proud owners of , an independent micro gin distillery located in Bega Valley on the Sapphire Coast of NSW.
Here's how 2020 went for them:
❌ Jan & Feb '20 were lost to the bushfires
❌ Two weeks after reopening in March '20, even with some fires still going near the property, they were shut down by COVID
❌ A plan to reopen in July with the easing of restrictions was thwarted by flooding thanks to stacks of rain, causing them to lose their driveway 😫
❌ Dec '20, finally they reopened on December 5th and were gearing up for a cracking summer, but then, exactly a year to the day since they were evacuated for the fires, the border to Victoria closed.
Karen and Gav sat on the veranda and watched bumper to bumper cars streaming south as folks rushed to get home to beat the border closure. The timing could not have been more cruel.
For the second year in a row, the region lost at least 70% of its normal tourist season. 😪
Here we are in Feb and FINALLY, their Gin School is up and running and going really well. And the cellar door is finally hitting its straps. *PHEW*. If you're planning a trip down south, PLEASE pop in for a visit and enjoy a cheeky tipple among rolling green hills. You can also and order their gorgeous gins online.
Karen and Gav want to send a huge thank you to everyone who supported them when they were featured on this page. "It gave us the life jacket we needed to ride out 2020... we have people coming back to us (literally this morning) saying I bought your gin through SWT back in the fires and now I'd like to buy some more, or come visit the cellar door. It really has been the gift that keeps on giving. 🙏 It continues to humble us and blow us away."
Awwww - all round feels. 💕
After the absolute HELL of 2020, here's hoping 2021 rocks. Let's help Karen & Gav on their way and go buy some gin at . 🍸
It's that time again - another Spend With Them featured business update of "where are they one year later" and today we're checking in with owners of , located in Bright, VIC.🌲⛰️
Susan and Kevin founded Alpine Sauce Co only weeks prior to the bushfires in January 2020, with the intent to sell their Memphis Style BBQ sauce in their local restaurant over the summer holidays. The bushfires altered that plan pretty drastically, and then just as the town was starting to recover and they were two days from reopening their restaurant again - the first Covid lockdown was announced. And let's not talk about the second, much longer Victorian lockdown. Ugggh.
In summary, for 363 days of last year, their restaurant doors were shut. In the end, they threw out $20k worth of produce, packed up their things and went to QLD to be with family as they simply couldn't afford rent for both their restaurant and the house they were in 😩.
To keep themselves afloat they purely relied on selling sauce online, making it out of a restaurant in Bundaberg, while starting work on a new product range, (which only launched last week!!😀).
Thankfully, they have since returned to Bright and after realising the potential of their little sauce business, they've decided to put their restaurant up for sale so they can focus purely on the Alpine Sauce Co!
Susan says that despite the loss of income and investment throughout all the bushfires and Covid , and now selling the restaurant for a lot less than what it cost them to fit it out to start with - the sale will allow them to grow The Alpine Sauce Co. and hopefully continue to go from strength to strength.
From the the Spend With Them team, we are so happy to hear about your progress. It's been a tough year and you've made some tough choices, but here's hoping 2021 has much bigger and, pardon the pun, "bright-er" things in store. 💛
So guys, if you're feeling saucy, make sure to check out the and . Fire up the ol' bbq with some Aussie produce and lather it was heckin' delicious Alpine Sauce! 😀👍 🤤
For today's update on "where are they one year later," we're checking in with one of the first businesses we featured on the SWT page in the wake of the devastating bushfires on the New South Wales south coast - specialty coffee roasters - located just outside of Batemans Bay.
After their town was absolutely smashed with the bushfires, and we shared their awesome small batch coffee roasting biz on this very page, and the SWT community rallied and . Just after, the Guerrilla Roasters guys, Luke and Matt responded with this:
"Mate we have done more coffee orders in the last 24 hours than in the entirety of our business! It's insane and the orders keep coming. We have just hired someone new to pack orders from tomorrow."
Anyhoos, we're leased to say that one year later, is doing great! They have grown their wholesale customer base and are shipping coffee all over Australia on the daily!
Best of all, despite all the hardships of 2020, they still found the time and money to give back to their community by starting the Bushfire Relief group SoCoDoLo which helped countless families and moved over $10M in goods around the south east region of NSW. They've also started working with .act to move supplies to Bushfire affected families. What legends!!! 😀
"The work isn't even close to done," said Matt, "but lots of people are going hard trying to fix things. We want to thank the Spend With Them community and all of Australia for showing their support at a time when we needed it the most. I am proud to say that we are now shipping more coffee weekly than we did in our first year of trade! And we've done collaborations with so many other small businesses, trying to spread the love that has been shown to us."
Another uplifting recovery story from our Spend With Them family. If you haven't tried their coffee, you're CRAY-Z! Be sure to check out and grab yourself a blend to die for ☕.
And if you're a bush fire affected business - we'd love to hear how you're doing a year on. Shoot us a DM 👍
Rahiti’s first birthday is coming up, which means it's been over a year since we created Spend With Them (yep, we started this when I was 8 months pregnant!).
One year since I felt trapped and terrified in our coastal community, one year since embers burned in our backyards, one year since homes, lives and communities were devastated across the country.
I'm so thankful for Spend with Them because it gave me the chance to redirect my focus. Instead of obsessing about how the fires were triggering me, working on this page made me think about others, and what I could do to help. That was empowering. So, thank you.
Thank you for following us, and for spending with the businesses we've featured. The impact you’ve made on real people in real towns is huge.
And thank you to everyone who has supported us behind the scenes. A special mention must be made to who got behind us in the early days and are helping us still. We wouldn't be doing this without their support.
Lastly: if you're a business we featured in the early days, can you send us a note about how you're going? We'd love to see how things are going for you one year on, and share an update here on Spend With Them. Shoot us a note at [email protected].
Much love,
Turia x
When the bushfires hit , Vele was just able to save some of her beautiful garlic seed. The rest of the property, a small chemical free farm on the eastern slopes of the Great Divide, did not fare as well.
Swipe to see some photos of the property in the days after the fire hit.
But Vele has persevered, and swung into action to get growing again. Available now is the beautiful, chemical free garlic that was saved.
Available for $35 a kilo, or pick up this cute mini taste tester - an egg carton filled with 8 small bulbs showcasing their range for just $3.50! They work with a range of delivery partners to get it shipped to you ❤️
If you love cooking and garlic (like me!), this makes a damn fine gift to yourself!

🎁 We and our friends at invite you to take our this holiday season by doing your holiday gifting at small, local businesses. It’s been a tough year for small biz owners. Make their day. Spend with them. 🎁
OK, maybe it’s because Christmas is NEXT WEEK, or maybe it’s just a muggy Thursday afternoon, but I’d very much like to pour one of these little cocktails over a glass of ice right about now 🤤
was started by Francois Planas after his Darlinghurst bar was rocked by the thrills and spills of COVID. To “pivot" (surely the most-used word of 2020) Francois started home delivering jam jars of his classic cocktails. Demand followed, he pivoted again, and a few months on, he’s created these elegant, single serve, premium bottled cocktails.
I’ll take a martini please.

I just love this!!! Ashlee created .buds.in.bloom this year after she noticed a decline in student and child wellbeing in the Adelaide Hills after the fires and then Covid.
She stocks tools that help kids feel calm when their feelings get big!
Like the coping strategies dice ($18), fidget bags ($21), breathing board ($25) and yoga and card bundle ($85).
Looking after your mental health is so important and I love that Ashlee is helping kids learn how to look after theirs.

OK, we’ve found your baby gifts! Done. Sorted! And they are CUTE!!

Just a girl, lying on the floor, snuggling up to her surfboard cover 😂😂😂
I ordered one of these sick surfboard covers as soon as we posted about them earlier this year!! They’re made by hand in Torquay, VIC by Tom, who decided to teach himself to sew after an accident left him permanently unable to continue his day job.
This legend sources the coolest fabrics, then cuts and sews each surfboard cover with care.
If you’re looking for a unique gift for your surf-mad someone, I recommend checking them out!
