Jon Ryley’s 10000 miler in aide of UK Mountain Rescue Teams

However due to COVID restrictions this was not possible, so I extended the walk to 2000 miles with the aim to finish on Scafell Pike in September 2021.

I am walking 10000 miles in support of mountain rescue in memory of my parents Maureen and Terry Ryley who passed away at the back end of 2019 and early 2020 70 days apart. I Started walking in March 2020 as Lockdown started in the UK, my initial aim was to walk 1000 miles 2020 in support of Wasdale Mountain Rescue team and finish on top of Scafell Pike in December 2020. This was accomplished and

TWC78 Bleaklow Round Trail Walking Club
This Saturday saw the trail walking club return to the Peak District.
The Queens Head in old glossop was this weekends base.
From the Hotel we headed up to the start of the old Roman rd (doctors gate) before turning off and over shire hill, picking up the lane what takes you to the wormstones, quick stop then headed on to the Harry hut trig point, where views opened up across to Manchester and surrounding areas.
From then on it was easy going, visiting a liberator plane wreckage and onto Mill Hill.
From Mill Hill we headed north along the Pennine Way crossing the snake pass making our way to the B29 super fortress crash site, and to the higher shelf stones trig point.
From there it was a steep downhill back into Glossop for a well deserved pint.
12.5 miles total walked.
Walk leader was Mark Privett (Mountain Rescue Mark)
Another 12.5 miles for Jon Ryley’s 10000 miler in aide of UK Mountain Rescue Teams in support of Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team and in memory of Billy Wells
