Handmade totebags that are made using reclaimed textiles and retired climbing ropes collected in and around the Gunnison Valley (that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill). 10% of proceeds go to a local nonprofit animal rescue program as well!

People visiting the Gunnison Valley or Seward, Alaska have an easy time getting their hands on a bag.....but for so many of the rest of you, you have to wait all year for us to do our website posts around Christmas time.
Gunnibags has been my side hustle for four years now and expansion has always been daunting amidst two degrees and home ownership. So when I decided to up and move to the city, the future of Gunnibags was slightly unknown. Hence why this page has been so quiet.......
A lot has happened since then- YAHOO! Our team has expanded, and Gunnibags are still being made right where they've always been made: in the Gunnison Valley.
Each bag is hand crafted using reclaimed and recycled textiles sourced from around the valley and the broader state of CO! 10% of proceeds will continue going to Gunnison Underdog Rescue this winter as well!
We will be doing a small posting on the website on November 4th, with several postings planned throughout the holidays.
As always, you can find our bags locally at Treads 'N' Threads, the best local partner a small business could ask for!

I’ve been home for about a week accumulatively over the last 5. So my living room has looked similar to this: suitcase packing/unpacking and gunnibags in between. Thank you to the friends that have come by to have a glass of wine and help me do bags amidst this crazy last month! Baba bags are restocked for Treads and Threads, so go by and see the new ones they’re putting out!

We are almost out of bags, in less than a day! I am continuously amazed at the love and support you all give Gunnibags. The first photo here is the last check that went to Gunnison Underdog Rescue, alongside my Roomate .efird who adopted from GUR. The rest of the photos are all doggies that have recently been saved and adopted through this rescue organization. So you’re not just buying a cool bag- you’re saving critters like these! if you own a small business, I highly recommend passing some of that love on to a nonprofit this season. (Or all stinking year 🙂)

The quilted collection! I had never used quilted pieces for Gunnibags- but noticed how many quilts are donated to the areas I do my textile collection. SO- here they are! They’re thick, cozy, durable, and sure to tell a story. All available tonight at 6pm :)
