Stories from the Wild. On occasion, wildlife transcends to cultural phenomena. Grizzly 399 is a bear living in Grand Teton National Park and the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Born in a den in Pilgrim Creek, Wyoming, during the winter of 1996, she was assigned a research number by the Yellowstone Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team. Last spring her appearance with a new cub in her 27th spring firmly solidified her status as the most celebrated bear in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The Lodge at Lake Nichols
This fully modern and authentic Lodge will ensure a comfortable stay for groups up to 12 in their adventure to Lake Nichols. The lake is 350 acres, privately owned, and loaded with largemouth bass, catfish, speckled perch, bream, and bluegill and home to bald eagles, osprey, and many more birds and creatures.
Lake Nichols dates before the Civil War and has been the home of a grist mill, cotton gin, turpentine plant, and small community; some original structures still stand. The lake is creek fed and has been a fishing lake for decades.
