So, the more the merrier right? Yet another band will be joining us on July 21st: The Backfires, indie rock outfit from NYC! I hope they know what they are getting into... 😈 (An absolutely killer night of music, that is.)

Story time:

This song began its life in 2014, nearly a decade ago now. I gave it the working title, "Malefic", because I felt the chords had this ominous, otherworldly quality to them. Never finished it, though.

Fast forward eight years, and in 2022, I released a version of this song under the title, "And The Band Played On". Sections added, chords elaborated, lyrics penned, versions iterated.

But I felt unsatisfied somehow as I started to practice it (and played it live once). So after even more iterations and demos it has ultimately mutated into a new form. And with a new form, I gave it a new name: "Cubist Titanic." The Titanic story as told through "lyrical cubism". Rewritten, restructured, re-recorded from the ground up and remixed using new techniques I have learned. I think it sounds way better than anything I've ever produced. See for yourself June 21!

Save this one for trivia night! I wanted to find a way to answer this question succinctly. The concept of this one man band was a venture into the unknown, and explaining it has always been tricky. How did I do?
