"It's Not Serious". Flexing my vocal muscles after a very long gap…
Love Jim's work on this spontaneous guitar track of mine. It's definitely not folk music… 😉

Just updated the "sound" page on my personal website.
Slightly croaky rough of that "House on the Hill" song for which I posted the lyrics earlier. Sums up how many of us feel about "the government".
The first draft lyrics to the song that woke me up this morning, demanding to be written:
---
The House On the Hill
1.
There's no turning back and there's no going forward
we're stuck on the doorway we'll never get out
The kitchen is burning the floor is collapsing
The people are shouting and running about
ch.
The house in the hill is still standing in glory
The house on the hill where they gave the command
There's no real choice but accept it and bear it
There's no real resistance we have no resource
2.
there's no revolution it's not a solution
There's no real acceptable situation
We're crying in shame that we did nothing sooner
But where do you start in the face of such power
ch
We're beaten and lost and the fu***rs keep coming
We're beaten and lost and you'd think that we're done
3.
The glimmer of hope is a spark from the future
The glimmer of hope that exists in a few
This fire is burning this fire is raging
We've unlocked the gate and we let ourselves out
ch
We heard what you said and we heard you retract it
You think we'll forget what you offered at first
4.
You're hoping we'll take it you're hoping we'll swallow
You're planning the next move while we're still retching
How can you be blind to the loss and the suffering
Conserving your gain and ignoring the loss
ch
Conserve your profit, removing our purpose
The terrible cost of preserving your gain
5.
You might imagine we're going to roll over
You might imagine we don't have the will
But waiting and learning in patient resistance
Here under the surface we quietly observe
ch
The house on the hill is beginning to crumble
The house on the hill where they're killing each other
Under the surface we're quietly watching
Waiting and learning in patient resolve
The house on the hill is beginning to crumble
The house on the hill is beginning to fall
The cracks have appeared while they're fighting each other
The house on the hill is beginning to fall

Photo, a normal house on a hill at the end of our road…
Another surprisingly haunting distant collaboration with one of my spontaneous guitar recordings, assembled by Jim Tetlow.
Vent, Flirt, Eureka, by Dave Everitt & Linda Faulkner from the album Lockdown #27
Some unplanned stuff (Stainsby Festival website editing issues on server) plus the rest made for a long list which took all day. Slightly unhappy bunny as needed a rest! But happy it's all done. More server stuff yet to come but need a break for a couple of days.
In the studio to start the long job of recording all the songs that we never got around to in either the Storm Thieves or Loscoe State Opera. Many thanks to Jonathan for the kind offer. Really enjoyable but far more tiring than it used to be! :-)

finally considering a studio visit (or 4 or more) to record songs long overdue. Thanks to Jonathan for the offer! Be good to put something new up here :-)
Just issued: album of all my recorded songs from Storm Thieves days in the 90s. The download gives you the live tracks, photos and three hand-scribbled lyrics sheets!
Catch the Sun, by DaveEveritt 15 track album
Following up ancient requests, I'm putting together all my Storm Thieves songs from the 1990s into one retrospective album. Be ready soon, here's a glimpse of the cover:
in case you didn't know I also make music in other ways too - thanks to Jim Tetlow for his persistent efforts in coordinating these wonderful remote collaborations
Tie Trot Twelve, by Dave Everitt & Jim Tetlow from the album 2021
Will be putting together two retrospective albums in 2022: one with all my Storm Thieves, and the other with all my Loscoe State Opera songs.
The aim is also to get started on an album of as-yet part- or un-recorded songs which means… errr… recording them, which I would like to do with some guest musicians ;-)
Set in the Monday Black Horse open mic thingy Andy runs…

acoustic guitar snippet
A short and flawed snippet of the kind of pieces I want to turn into an ambient acoustic album.

I now have almost 50 short acoustic guitar pieces to process (okay, I've not been counting but it seems like that)
My electric guitar was made in 1974. Can't you just tell? Vintage posters for the Fender Starcaster.
I'm really piling up those nice 3-6-minute acoustic sketches. They'll be up somewhere, sometime. Maybe a purely acoustic guitar album.
If only you could slap an audio file up on FB as easily as a pic. I'd put one up now.
No new music yet, although it's still creeping down the pipeline… so here's a pic of me and Dan Britton in former band The Horse Thieves, at Abbey Park, Leicester (from the mid-90s, I think)
At the Donkey, April 2014. I really must get out more.

I've been recording quite a few very brief spontaneous acoustic guitar pieces at home. Since some of you enjoyed the last ones, sometime soon I'll master them (haha, slightly exaggerated use of the term) and get them up here.
