If you’ve got a new bebe in your life to knit for, I have a new project for you! πŸ‘Ά by Michaels Stores. Wrap that little one up in a soft and comfy Ombre Baby Blanket, made with new Caron Cotton Ripple Cakes! β™₯ I love the nubbly texture of this yarn, and the complementary solid and variegated colors drew me right in. You’ll need two cakes – a solid and a variegated, which you can pick up at your local Michaels or order online. Head over to my IGTV for the step-by-step video (link below) and see just how easy this blanket is!

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is gifting something handknit that I know will be treasured. 🎁 by Michaels Stores. If you're short on time, whip up this cozy Festive Fair Isle Beanie for your loved ones this season!

I don't know of anyone that wouldn't appreciate a warm woolly beanie this time of year. πŸŽ… All you need are a few supplies, which can be found at your local Michaels! I used 5 different colors of Lion Brand Wool-Ease, and I just love how they complement each other. Michaels has a wide range of colors available, so you can mix and match to your heart's content! πŸ™Œ You can even snag my favorite pom trimming scissors while you're there. πŸ˜‰ Head over to my IGTV to see how to make this beanie, and find the supply link below.

Meet the Raglan with a Twist! πŸŽ‰This is my FIRST raglan design πŸ˜… and my most size inclusive design to date (17 sizes, from 34" to 73")!

The Raglan with a Twist combines a classic raglan shape with a unique applied hem (no seaming!) and subtle slipped stitch raglan increases. It is worked top down, featuring a cropped length (adjustable for a longer length) intended to be worn with 2-4 inches of positive ease for a flattering fit. Simply measure your bust, add your desired amount of ease, and choose the size with the closest measurement.

You can find the free pattern on my blog, or grab it in a kit directly from with a wide color range to choose from! πŸ’š link is in the comments. Happy knitting!

If you caught my stories last night, you’ll know I finally finished this labor of love! πŸ˜…

She’s knit all in one piece, even the hem, from the top down. She has pretty little slipped stitch raglan increases to match the fishermen’s rib hem, and tubular bind offs. 😍

I’m currently looking for testers for sizes 34”-72”. If you’re interested, click the link in comments! I hope to be able to choose testers and email by tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday!

Who's ready to whip up some super quick mittens? πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ You guys know I love knitting mittens - they're fast, easy, and who doesn't love to receive a pair as a gift? Michaels Stores and I have teamed up on a new how-to video to walk you through each step of knitting these cozy Seed Stitch Mittens! We'll talk about when and why to use stitch markers, and how to weave in those pesky ends. I'm in love with this texture, what about you?

You can find all of the supplies needed in one convenient stop to your local Michaels or online at www.michaels.com. Who will you knit a pair for? Click the link below to get started!

Happy ! πŸ’š Have you ever worked an applied border before? I normally use them for shawls, but for this sweater I'm using it for the hem! There is no seaming - you basically just bind off one live sweater stitch for every other row of the hem. Yes it's time consuming, but I gotta say I'm loving how it's working up! I think it will add interest to this classic raglan and compliment some other little details of this sweater that I have yet to show you. What do you think?

Happy Monday! πŸ‘‹ How was your weekend? I've been plugging away on a new design with Touch of Alpaca, and it's coming along well! I'm a bit further along than in this photo - more like to the phase where you don't want to bind off because you worry it won't fit. πŸ˜…πŸ˜… Anyone else ever feel that way? What do you have on your needles this week?

04/09/2020

We made it to Friday, guys! πŸ™Œ How was your week? Ours was rough with the passing of our beloved Nemo cat, but starting homeschool has been a welcomed distraction.

I've been enjoying a little knit therapy with this Touch of Alpaca - have you tried this yarn? I'm loving how it's working up! πŸ’š I can't wait to show you what I'm working on, but until then I hope you have a lovely weekend!

27/08/2020

Oh, hi! Hello! πŸ‘‹ How have you been? I hope you've been enjoying a fun and safe summer. Ours has been very low-key, but we've been enjoying lots of quality time together. Next week we venture into the world of homeschooling! πŸ˜…πŸ˜³I'm thankful that it's an option for us, but nervous about balancing time with running a business. Mostly I'm excited! I let Eleanor choose one topic to study this year and she chose dinosaurs, so we're both real pumped to learn everything about Compsognathus next week. πŸ˜‚

On the knitting side of things, I've been working hard on new patterns (yes, plural!) and I have something exciting coming for you just in time for fall! So keep those peepers open. πŸ‘€

Have you done anything fun this summer? I'd love to hear about it!

*Pattern Sale for Flood Relief*

Friends, what a week it has been. If you missed the news, about a week ago here in mid Michigan, we had a significant amount of rain (not unusual). This led to a breach in the dam north of us, which eventually collapsed. The lake it held back completely drained within an hour (as in there is now a pit where a lake used to be), which put too much strain on the next dam down river, which also breached. This released a massive amount of flood water in our area, and forced over 10,000 residents to evacuate in a very short amount of time. Thankfully, there were no deaths or significant injuries! πŸ™Œ We are also so thankful that our neighborhood stayed dry. Unfortunately, many neighborhoods did not. Some friends had flooding in their basements, some up to their main floors, and some homes are a total loss. They're calling this a 500 year flood, which occurred only 3 years after a 200 year flood in this area.

It has been heartbreaking to see the massive amount of loss in our community, but at the same time incredibly uplifting seeing everyone come together to help their friends, family and strangers even during a pandemic. ❀️ From what I've heard from friends, many flood insurance companies are not reimbursing people because they don't cover dam failures. Midland county has put together a Flood Relief Project Fund, and for the next week I'll be contributing 100% of profits from pattern sales from my Ravelry shop to the fund. I've marked down all patterns by 75%, which is the most I've ever marked them down, so now would be a great time to stock up! The discount will appear once items are added to your cart. If you feel inclined to share this with your knitting friends, I would sure appreciate it. ❀️ Ravelry link is in the comments.

When you finish a seasonally appropriate sweater in time to wear it, you have to post a picture or it didn't happen, right? πŸ˜‚ This might be my only knitted accomplishment in the last 6 weeks, but I'm so happy with it how it turned out! πŸ™Œ This is the Saltwater Sweater kit in cinnamon from and I can't recommend it highly enough! I followed the pattern exactly as written, with the only modification being a tubular bind off for the neckline. It is sooo comfy and easy to wear. Have you finished any new projects lately?

How is this treating you? Sorry for the radio silence over here - it's hard to get motivated to post or do much more than work on this little sweater. We've found the 3 of us feel best when we keep busy and stick to a routine, so we're trying to do a little school work in the mornings and lots of outside play time in the afternoons. Plus allll the legos. I mean all of 'em. How are you holding up? ❀️

I'm still here, and still knitting. How are you guys holding up? I have almost no motivation to work on work-related knitting, so I'm cruising along with my Saltwater Sweater from Wool and the Gang. ❀️ It's such an addictive and relaxing knit. I finished the back, I'll probably finish the front today, then I'll be on to the sleeves! Keep your eyes peeled for their summer collection, which will be out tomorrow!

How are you doing out there, friends? It's hard to believe everything that's been happening in the world even just in the past week. I'm so thankful to have a source of calm such as knitting when things are stressful, and I hope you have an outlet, too. If you're looking for a new pattern to try while spending more time at home, I'd love to share one of mine with you. Feel free to use the code KNITON in my Ravelry shop (link in comments) from now through Monday 3/16 to receive a free pattern of your choice!
