Naapil sa CHED Tertiary Education Subsidy grantees nga wala nako gi expect kay wala ko naka apply, pero kay palangga ni Magbabaya, iyang gihatag sa akoa...

The first day of the month welcomed the Bansalumads with optimism and hope.
In the morning, the Heart of the Talaandig Ancestral Territory started the first meeting of the month whereby Bukidnon Provincial BM-IPMR Atty. Arbie "Bagani" Saway Llesis attended. He discusses on the updates by his works in the province as the IPMR. He further discusses on the spirit of the tribe whereby peace and harmony among beings is very important as it is connected to its culture which is considered as life of the tribe. He also talked about the five pillars of kinship which is embedded in Talaandig way of life such as Kilalaha, Buliga, Sayuda, Pabatun-batuna and Uyaga.
During the afternoon, the people of Kalasungay and its Council of Elders (Talaandig, Bukidnon and Higaunon) welcomed him at Kalasungay, Bukidnon. The people are inspired by his work in discussing BansaLumad, solutions and hope for the tribes and its manifestations for the future.

67th Anlaw ta Sumilao: Celebration, Cultural presentations and tribal Sports
Indigenous peoples (Talaandig and Higaunon) coming from ten Barangays in the Municipality of Sumilao gathered to celebrate the 67th Anlaw ta Sumilao.
People have witnessed the rich culture of the Talaandig and Higaunon by showcasing their culture by starting the activity with ritual through indigenous Spirituality. There's also cultural presentations through singing, dancing, poetry tribal Sports and agro-fair, an activity by the ten Barangays in partnership with the Local Government Unit.
The whole activity has been witnessed by the Provincial BM-IPMR of Bukidnon - Atty. Arbie "Bagani" Saway Llesis which he has given a time to speak in front of the crowd. The people are inspired by his work in BansaLumad by giving them opportunity to be represented to the province where their voice shall be heard. Datu Amay Iwag and IPMR Datu Carlo Dahinao, who has big contributions on the recognition of the rights of the IP in the said Municipality together with the Indigenous Political Structures (Datu's and Bai's) are also present.
Local Government officials are also there especially the supportive Mayor Hon. Jose Antonio Villo together with the PNP.

67th Anlaw ta Sumilao
Bukidnon Provincial BM-IPMR Atty. Arbie "Bagani" Llesis spoke on stage to the Bansalumads in Sumilao regarding the information and update on his vision and work on upcoming IP Code, BansaLumad, Provincial IP Tulugan (Tribal Administration Building) and IP Guest house.
The people in the event (mostly Talaandigs and Higaunons) agreed to his suggestion to use the term BansaLumad as a substitute to the term Lumad. Derived from the word Bansa which means honor, pride and dignity and in Filipino means nation. Bansa and Lumad when combined, showcase that the Lumad (Indigenous Peoples) are not just ordinary people but they are worthy to be proud of their identity. They should honor themselves because they are peacemakers. Sacred covenants be dignified just as themselves especially to the people of Sumilao as they are the keepers of the Ring of the ancestor that shines in their homeland the reason why the land is called "Sumilao" which means shining.
From Lumad, they now call themselves BansaLumad. Indigenous culture was still alive despite the strong influx of modernization and change. They are the first nations in their territory since time immemorial.

Potentials of Indigenous Peoples Development
There is something universal about the culture of Indigenous Peoples. We are more familiar with our surroundings and environment where nature is closely connected to our life, our living traditions. We talk about cultural solutions that can be found within our communities. The potentials in everything that had been provided to us by the Creator. Where sustainable development is embedded within our culture, to our environment and to the universe.
These potentials can be applicable to the real world. Our food security that are abundant to feed our people. In everything that we do, when connected to our culture is somewhat practical and simple. Where our rituals are can be seen and attested with our senses, the symbols and prayers. Our own medicine that cured thousands of people for many generations and generations to come. Effective conflict resolutions that made our community peaceful since sacred customary covenants that still respected to this day. This is our way of life.

Nabuhat hai ha kalihukan tungud hu pag implemetar hu balaud ha iyan sa pagkilala, pag-promote, pag respeto daw pag protekta hu katungud hu mga Bansalumad subay hu RA 8371, Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) duma hu pag-assert hu pagpalig-un hu Kultura (Cultural Integrity, IP Education, Rights to Self-Governance and Rights to Self-Determination).
