While we’re soaking up the last days of summer, we’re already looking ahead to something truly special—a chance for you to refresh, renew, and reset in 2025. We’re excited to announce our upcoming Spring Reset Retreat at the stunning Casa Om overlooking the Potomac in West Virginia - March 13-16th!
This retreat is designed to help you begin the new season with a clear mind, an open heart, and renewed energy. Nurture your spirit, align your body, and rejuvenate your mind with healing practices & meditation, yoga, and wellness coaching workshops to guide you toward a spring filled with purpose and peace.
Together with my dream team, Julia Davidson, a Duke-trained and board-certified health and wellness coach, expert guidance in healing meditation from Shirin Rahmatollahi & Noushin Rahmatollahi, who are the heart of Ladan Spa, & of course functional yoga & movement with me! Let us take you on this 4 day fun filled good for your soul retreat!

Balance in the body refers to the ability to maintain a stable position and coordination in various physical activities. It involves several systems, including the vestibular system (related to the inner ear), proprioception (awareness of body position), and visual input. Good balance is essential for daily activities, preventing falls, and enhancing athletic performance & crucial for overall health and well-being, especially as we age.
Balance is not just standing on one leg but how your energy is distributed through the body by way of your core & posture! I’m here to help you create better balance & awareness for our everyday life not just on the yoga mat! This type of work, the is SO much more than yoga:)

What can I say…. There are a lot of yoga elements found in baseball. Both baseball and yoga require focus, concentration, and body awareness.
In baseball, players need to be mentally focused and pay close attention to the game. Similarly, in yoga, practitioners need to be present and focused on their breath and movements. Both activities require a certain level of concentration to perform well.
I enjoy working with my son & other young athletes & non athletes who want to increase the balance between mind/body, range of motion/ flexibility & strength mentally & physically!

Wooohoo! 📣 Where my yoga side kicks at? Now that kiddos are heading back to school, I know there will be endless hours spent in the car, sitting in pick up lines, to & from practices, lots of sitting at games & not to mention sitting at desks all day or looking down at our phones. All of which can be so taxing on the body + mind. While we can’t avoid these tasks we can unravel some of the painful patterns we find ourselves in. I’m here to help & cheer you on.

We will start with a lighthearted, 45-minute yoga experience led by me and Ali Ranney. After this easy-breezy yoga class we’ll give you a moment to regroup. And then we'll kick back and relax with some delicious vino, with a wine tasting led by Victor Mendes of Vienna Vintner. We’ll even send you a list of foods ahead of time, recommended by Victor, to pair with your delicious sparkling wines.
No experience with wine or yoga is necessary. Ugly holiday sweater optional! $85 per household (includes two bottles of wine).

Because of the Virginia Governor's recent orders, all group yoga classes will be online-only, temporarily, starting Monday, Dec. 14th. I have never been a fan of deep back bends they never felt good in my body & I always felt defeated so I just avoided them like the plaque (Covid;) BUTT ... when you establish neural pelvis & activate your glutes 🍑 amazing things can happen in your low back & work up the chain to your heart, upper back & shoulders.. Things start to feel mighty fine! ❤️🔥 ... You DO NOT have to do wheel pose to achieve a deep heart opener. Hi yogis & friends! I’m sorry I’ve been quiet over the last month. I know it has been a busy season for all. I just completed a second 200hr yoga program through the Lyt Yoga Method created by Physical Therapist, Lara Heimann. It is yoga with functional movement based sequencing designed to build strength, stretch and balance in a more optimal & safer way. I have had a few requests for tutorials (ex. better alignment for chaturungas, crow pose or work up to handstands) & also shorter flows (30-45min) Videos to follow soon!

It is essential for transferring energy throughout the body for better functionality. When we apply demand on the core we will build the endurance & strength we need on the mat but most importantly off the mat. When the core is not integrated we tend to spill our energy out having less optimal results & often depleted physically & of course mentally. Happy 4th of July weekend, yogis!! ❤️🤍💙This weeks practice (Lyt Method)is about the Magic Pelvic Bowl!! It’s magical because this is where all the energy is created in the body. We also recruit the glutes & the psoas(deep hip flexor) to reset the pelvis into neutral giving us more freedom to move, find balance & less discomfort! The “magic” then radiates throughout the rest of our body & helps us move in a more graceful way. (** you don’t have to be a dancer to find this;)

Hi yogis 👋 Free your ASANA!!!! This weeks practice is influenced by a new methodology I have been practicing & training in. It’s called the LYT Method by physical therapist, Lara Liemann. This class focuses on one of the great yoga sutras Shtira vs. Sukha or Strength vs. Ease. It’s one of the great dualities in life. We need both, we need balance. Balance feels good in our body, our mind. We feel organized. Without it we are stagnant, stressed, often depressed. In order to achieve balance in the body we first need to create the structure. Align the core (pelvis to shoulders) that is the Shtira (strength) & then we add in the breath + asanas (poses) Within the two we find the balance.. Strength & structure + movement, fluidity & ease.
