Lgbtq+ Community of Worthing

There's a lot going on around here in relation to this. Work in this field is often blocked by extreme positivism, hostility and demands for lab- science style ' proof'. At last a chance to submit the ' softer' kinds of evidence that we know we have. Take a gander.

Call for evidence - Creativity and personal wellbeing - What Works Wellbeing We’re looking for grey literature from charities, gov't or businesses, that have evidence on activities connecting creativity and wellbeing.

COOO-EEEE!! ... SHOUT-OUT for people to step up and do stuff - become a page admin and approve posts; take on the role of welcoming new members on the group page, with a friendly message and an image; produce a guide or two on something dear to your heart; organise a one-off event; trawl LGBTQ+ blogs and sites for interesting snippets and post 'em up; compile a list of queer-friendly spaces or queer-owned business in Worthing; club together with others and organise / plan a mega big event; offer to take on setting up of a regular thing - monthly walks, a coffee meetup, a drag tutorial, a sea swim, a cycle ride - whatever you can dream up. *******************************************************
We've had team discussions and we're in the process of making a mini video about how the group is going to work, going forward. Bottom line - we want to share power, insider knowledge, skills, responsibility, tasks, and make sure nobody ever gets either burnt out with too much work here --- or overlooked because they can't commit loads of time or offer specific skills.

We're trying to allow everyone who'd like to be, to get more involved and to be supported in doing that. (See Bryony's recent tutorial guide on how to make a FB event - there'll be some support for people coming on board).

The 'group restructure' video is coming in a week or two - till then - message us if you'd like to be a page /group admin; message if you fancy taking on an online role; just go ahead and set up a one-off event if you've got one ready; post a shoutout for collabs if you'd like to do something regular or something bigger. ****************************************************************
This group (over 600 members now) belongs to us all and we'd love to see the energy and talent in here taking flight and making more happen.
