My 4 Torts have a new winter cabin. Got it built just in time!! It’s insulated and bigger than last years. Larger door so no one can block the entrance. Heat lights on both sides however we have only needed to use one so far. Thick mat underneath the straw. Last night was chilly dipping in the 40’s and Fred and Wilma are snuggled up together. I opened the sun roof to let it air out and sunlight come in and Fred jumped to get the sunspot.

The tortoises winter cabin is almost finished. Pebbles explored inside it today. Jeff needed to drill some holes and didn’t want to scare her so to get her out I had to put food out for her. We also planted winter rye grass seed and covered it with manure. Next is to drag down a large rubber mat and put inside, then add straw. We have a heat light on one side but plan to put another in on the other side. Also put clear rubber flaps to cover the door entrance. Jeff built most of this using scraps leftover including R-15 Rockwool insulation with a v***r barrier. Later we’ll add internet and a big screen tv for them to enjoy.😜👍

We now have 3 year old torts!! Pebbles passed Wilma weighing 37 lbs. Fred passed Wilma at 35 lbs. Wilma is 33 lbs Bam Bam (a month behind) 17 lbs. Emry at 25 lbs. Evan not far behind at 22 lbs.

It's THAT time of year again!!! Fred and I added to our Piano Duet showing his growth! OMG!!!! Guess how much he weighs!!! He was the third heaviest last year! Still need to weigh the others but at least we got our piano duet finished.

Guesses??? We still don’t know their s*x. Wilma and Pebbles are about 12 inches across now from their bottom underneath because they both are snug getting in and out of their heated box house! We need to cut the wood wider!
