It's always a little nerve wrecking to come up with my own designs for book covers but in the end, it's always worth it. I know there's plenty of you who feel the same way. Practice and patience. Don't give up!

Origins
I have always found satisfaction in creating. Hence the name “Smoke Ring Leather.” It instills in my mind the feeling of relaxation brought on only from a hard day’s work. In 2016, I started my journey in leather working making journals as Christmas gifts for my family. As I developed the design, hand-sewed the pages, and carved each person’s name, I found a source of satisfaction in the creation of meaningful items that were intended to last. This simple project implanted the love of leather craft deep in my mind. My skill grew with my next few projects: a name plate for my son’s crib, a stocking for his first Christmas, and a hand tooled belt for my sister. I couldn’t stop. Leather was all I could think about! As I began to develop the craft, I was inspired to make wallets, belts, watch straps, pouches, book covers and more. I made anything I could think of, and I haven’t stopped since.
In a world encumbered by price cuts and efficiencies, I believe that things should be made to last. It is for this reason I continue to strive to develop my skill and knowledge of leather crafting.
