A mysterious caller terrorizes Metropolis by targeting its 3 main transportation systems: ✈️, 🚂, & 🚢. Quite a few head-scratching moments in this one: Why didn’t they give guest star Pierre Watkin (Perry from the Kirk Alyn serials) a more prominent role? How did a whole group of people miss that 📦 disappear from just a few feet away? Why is Henderson so bad at his job? (Sorry, Bill, you know I love ya.) What prompted Clark to make the connection to the 🎡, and why not just tell Lois & Jim? It’s a fun discussion!

As I mentioned to Dan Jurgens in this week’s episode (you 🎧 yet?) when I shared my undying fandom of villain Conduit, next year will mark 30 years since “The Death of Clark Kent.”
We’ve manifested things before, so here goes nothing: How about a Death of Clark Kent 30th Anniversary Special in 2025 ft. the long-overdue return of Conduit? 🙏
🚀 AT LAST! 32 years ago, I stood in front of Heroes World in The Galleria mall and…well, you know the rest. Now, my entire Superman fan journey comes full-circle as I interview legendary comics creator DAN JURGENS (who wrote & pencilled Superman #75, aka the conclusion of “The Death of Superman”) AND longtime Superman group editor MIKE CARLIN.
I got to ask all the things I always wanted to and, even more importantly, express my gratitude. I hope you enjoy these discussions.
To paraphrase the Clark Kent of SMALLVILLE: If you ever listened to this podcast, and even if you don’t now, cue it up. It’s a special one.

🥵 Say, did someone crank up the temperature on the ol’ steam cabinet again? Get me to the Daily Planet First Aid ⛑️ ASAP! On this week’s 🎙️ Another Exciting Episode in the Adventures of Superman, renowned Superman podcaster Michael Bailey (From Crisis to Crisis) joins me for “Perry White’s Scoop,” in which the Chief gets back in the field after a man in a diving suit 🤿 is shot & killed in front of the Daily Planet.
From the gym 🏋️♂️ to the water tower to the rail yard 🚂, Perry shows ‘em all how it’s done. But what, if any, lesson does he learn in the end?
Very fun recording about a standout Perry-centric episode! 🎧 ➡️ https://anotherexcitingepisodeintheadventuresofsuperman.captivate.fm/episode/perry-whites-scoop-adventures-of-superman-2x19
All right, folks: You’ve heard OUR Top 10 Smallville episodes of the entire series. (Or maybe you’re still 🎧. I know it’s a long one, even for DFK! 😆) But now’s the time to share YOUR Top 10. Have at it! Or, if you’re not up for making a full list, which inclusions or omissions of ours surprised you the most?
☄️ THE TRIALS END! ☄️ Folks, the time has come: Not only is today’s brand-new episode the conclusion to our “Trials of Smallville” epic, but it’s also the swan song for our months-long coverage of “the adventures of Superman when he was a boy.” And we’re going out BIG: Always Hold On To Smallville host Zach Moore returns as we each count down our TOP 10 EPISODES of the entire decade-long television series!
With well over 200 episodes to choose from, there were some TOUGH choices to make. And while certain fan-favorite episodes do pop up on both of our lists, we definitely surprised each other throughout the discussion with our selections and/or placements in the ranking — and we each saved our biggest surprise for our #1 pick…
Whether or not you’ve been listening to this entire event (and I sure hope you have! 🤓), you do NOT want to miss this if you have ANY interest in our favorite young Superman show.

🚀 Digging for Kryptonite is officially 4 YEARS OLD today! We premiered on October 21, 2020. 🙏 Thank you to everyone — guest, audience member, patron, & social media cheerleader — who has been part of this journey so far. It remains my absolute joy to host this show. 🎙️

🔥🔥🔥 NEW EP! We talked DC heroes on SMALLVILLE last week, & now it’s time to give the Superman villains their due in Part 6 of “The Trials of Smallville.”
🚀 Tyler from Krypton Report: Podcast joins me to discuss the big bads adapted from the comics: Brainiac, Zod (General & Major!), Bizarro, Doomsday (aka Davis Bloom, paramedic by day & serial killer by night), & Darkseid. We discuss how each one got filtered through the Smallville lens to varying degrees of effectiveness.
And yes, of course I complain about the seconds-long Doomsday fight, but I don’t dwell on it! 🤣 Lot of great talk about the show’s mythology & sometimes-baffling Kryptonian lore too. It’s an epic one!
AND, we had so much to talk about that we’ll be dropping a second (though much shorter!) bonus ep on Friday with a discussion of the more minor villains, including Mxy, Metallo, Toyman, and more.
You know what to do. 🎧 NOW! 🔗 in bio.

🗞️🗞️🗞️ EXTRA! EXTRA! On the latest 🎙️ Another Exciting Episode in the Adventures of Superman 🎙️ podcast, Always Hold On To Smallville host Zach Moore returns as we discuss “The Boy Who Hated Superman.”
In this Season 2 installment of the George Reeves series, Clark helps a misguided “boy” (using that term very loosely!) forge a better path.
Also, just how old is Jim Olsen supposed to be on this show?! 🤔

💥 You wet & ready, bro? 🌊 Because it’s an ALL-NEW installment of “The Trials of Smallville,” our blockbuster event taking you through the various facets of Clark Kent’s decade-long television journey. This week, comic book artist V Ken Marion & I break down the show’s adaptations of the heroes of the DCU, including:
⚡️ Flash
🔱 Aquaman
🦾 Cyborg
🏹 Green Arrow
👽 Martian Manhunter
🪄 Zatanna
And many MORE, including the Legion, Justice Society, Black Canary, & Booster Gold!
We discuss the most & least effective interpretations, what a massive deal “Justice” was at the time, Lois Lane’s penchant for future Leaguers, how the adaptations changed as the show did through its distinct eras, and — most importantly — how each hero intersected with Clark and played a role in his larger development.

Our pals at Always Hold On To Smallville are back with the start of their final season coverage! The Season 10 premiere, “Lazarus,” is a fave of mine, and I’m excited to hear Zach & Craig break it down.

🎪 NEW EPISODE ALERT! Hope you ain’t afraid of 🤡, because on this week’s 🎙️ Another Exciting Episode in the Adventures of Superman, joins me to break down “The Clown Who Cried” from Season 2 of the George Reeves series.
A rogue clown (Crackers) impersonates his former partner (Rollo) during a telethon in order to steal money raised for the children. In the end, Superman can save only one, and he’s racked with guilt about it. Just kidding. This was the early 50s! 😆 He was fine the next scene.

“Trust me, Clark, our friendship is going to be the stuff of legend.” 🔥 ALL-NEW EP! 🔥 Lance Laster from Always Hold On To Arrow joins me to discuss the tragic descent of LEX LUTHOR over the course of SMALLVILLE.
We relive the defining moments in Lex's journey and broken friendship with Clark, from their fateful meeting on the bridge in the pilot to their long-awaited reunion in the series finale — with stops along the way at the asylum, the dark truth about Julian, a pivotal Christmas vision, a faked pregnancy, and Lex's inevitable killing of Lionel Luthor.
Were Lex and Clark ever really friends? What role, if any, does Clark play in how Lex turned out? And did the series misunderstand its own point by mind-wiping Lex in the end? Lance & I ponder these questions and more!

🚀 BEHOLD! Our final podcast event of ’24 stands revealed. Later this Fall, we return to the CHRISTOPHER REEVE film series & discuss each movie in turn across a quartet of episodes!
I know what you’re thinking: Haven’t we already talked about these films? Yes & no! It’s been well over 100 episodes since we last tackled the 1978 film, our previous Superman II talks largely revolved around the Donner Cut, and we only ever really got into III & IV by way of the “Redeemed” cut that combined the best of both films. This more focused, sustained approach is a long time coming, and I can’t wait to dig in.
Don’t miss any of ‘em! And before all that, keep tuning in for the rest of our Smallville episodes, a special 175th episode extravaganza, & our “Rejected by NYCC” special!
📰 EXTRA! EXTRA! On an all-new 🎙️ Another Exciting Episode in the Adventures of Superman, Gene Cahill from Fat Moose Comics joins me to break down “My Friend Superman,” in which 👨🍳 diner operator Tony is targeted by a protection racket & claims to be a personal friend of Superman. Also: super-speed! Bottom artwork by Randy Garrett. 🔗 in bio.
💔 ANGST ALERT! This week on “The Trials of SMALLVILLE,” KryptonSite/KSiteTV editor-in-chief Craig Byrne joins me to discuss the relationships (aka “the ships”) of the show, including Clark/Lana, Clark/Lois, Clark/Chloe, Clark/Alicia, & Lex/Lana.
We discuss what an essential ingredient they were to the show’s appeal & longevity, defining moments in the core ships, ships we wish had sailed (lookin’ at you, Lori Lemaris 🧜♀️), Red K Clark & what each outing revealed about his emotional state, and more — including how a highly divisive sitcom series finale helped me come to terms with Clana’s ending in “Reqiuem.” You have to hear it to believe it! 😉
Regardless of your favorite ship, there’s a ton for you to sink your teeth into with this ep. 🎧 Cue it up! 🔗 in bio.
