..and lots of other wacky crap.
Now on Patreon: FINALLY, as long promised on P-Saps, in this episode we're joined by our friend Jerry Chrisman to talk STAR WARS: our memories of seeing it for the first time in 1977, the seismic impact it had on us and the world around us, and what it was like growing up while the original trilogy was unfolding.

Prodigious Saps No. 38: "AQUABRO"
THIS WEEK: Brendan's disappointment in AQUAMAN II prompts a discussion of how studios all too often make the mistake of "bending the character around the actor" instead of casting an actor who actually portrays the character.
Also: the DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special, THE BATMAN, SUPERMAN: LEGACY, and the excellent third season of SLOW HORSES.

We are both huge Beatles fans, so with the recent release of their new single “Now and Then” (advertised as “the last Beatles song”), we decided to do a whole episode about the Beatles.
Among the topics discussed:
· what the Beatles mean to us
· how we first were introduced to the Beatles as kids,
· memories of the two of us geeking out over them in our early 20s,
· why they’re so important historically, and of course...
· what we think of the new song.
Also, towards the end we touch on some of the recent Marvel (MCU) news, but decide to put in a pin in that for a future episode.
Patreon just got yet another early P-Saps release… Brendan and Chad are both huge Beatles fans, so with the recent release of their new single Now and Then (advertised as "the last Beatles song"), we decided to do a whole episode about the Beatles.

This is our Halloween episode, which I'd intended to edit & publish while Blaggards was in Ireland, but no dice. So here we are celebrating Halloween in November... yay!
In this one:
* Our childhood Halloween experiences
* The obscure 1979 TV special "The Halloween That Almost Wasn't" featuring Judd Hirsch as Dracula
and the pièce de résistance:
* Disney's sci-fi classic THE BLACK HOLE (also 1979), a very strange movie, especially for Disney at the time. It has quite a few glaring flaws, but it's still remarkably daring and innovative, with some absolutely stunning visuals, many of which still hold up today.

I've been working on a new, heavily re-edited cut of Episode 19, where we discussed George Pal's "The Time Machine" (1960) and Nicholas Meyer's "Time After Time" (1979).

In recent weeks, Episode 19 has become the most popular full episode of P-Saps on YouTube, so I figured it might be wise to put out a shorter version so we can reach more viewers. The original episode is over 80 minutes long, and this cut is currently a little over 24 minutes, with a lot more b-roll included to provide context.
Hoping to get this finished and posted on our channel in the next couple days, but wanted to share it with our patrons first:
