The board is asking to vote on a policy change that would require a minium of 2 trustees to agree on an issue before it can placed on the agenda, or pulled from consent to discuss. This type of policy change would definitely toe the line in regards to our board members violating an open meetings act, by needing to have behind the scenes conversations to find out who is in agreement. As a district that brags about transparency- how is this transparent?? We need our school board members to vote NO to this! Please like, share, and comment!
It’s almost like we had elementary schools on the south side that we gave away to charters… weird…
Almost $5 million to purchase land on the south side for an elementary school.
Random information that makes me giggle. I keep seeing multiple employees, staff, and administrators pushing for the bond. Which isn’t unusual except for those very vocal cheerleaders all live in Odessa/Ector county.
It is actually rather brilliant on their part. They would receive all the benefits with zero cost to their families 🤷🏻♀️

MIDLAND, TX - Today, Lee High School graduate and Midland native Josh Guinn filed to run against former Midland ISD Board President, Bryan Murray. As a parent of children in both public and private schools and a product of MISD, Josh has seen the holes in Midland’s education system, and he is ready to bring change and accountability to the district. Josh earned his Associate of Applied Sciences at Blinn College and is now a successful local business owner serving the upstream oil and gas sector.
Josh’s number one priority is improving every student’s academic outcome. Josh will fight to support our teachers and hold the administration accountable for failing our children. With his experience managing multi-million-dollar drilling budgets and running a successful business, Josh will ensure that your taxpayer dollars are used efficiently to help students succeed. As MISD parents, Josh and Felicia are aware of the daily challenges in our schools. Josh is ready to solve problems and set all our children up for success.

I have some questions about a recent YWLA contract !
Bond committee voted tonight and proposition 2 won and will be presented to the school board.
Tonight the board will have a special meeting to go over the recommendations from the bond planning committee.
We will be meeting at Bunche Elementary at 5:30 PM.
I want to refresh a few memories. I have been against this program from day one. I was heavily criticized for making this statement. The problem is this isn’t the only program we have but it is is the worst program we have.
It is time to stop the nonsense and remove the product. I am tired of the gaslighting and the smoke and mirrors from administration.
I am hearing about issues with some of the curriculum. The very same curriculum I campaigned against and was assured no CRT would not be in our schools.
This is a just a friendly reminder to parents and guardians, you have the right to review the new curriculum that central office staff brought to our district for this upcoming school year. The link to the parent handbook is in the comments, and the information is on page 15.
Hope you had a wonderful 1st day back!
Interesting article. I would like to hear your thoughts.

500 million dollars for one high school?
Thought board members were supposed to ask question not campaign for a bond
Sitting at the school board meeting tonight and the new layout is not great. We have additional ancillary members now on the stage and makes it looks congested.
4 additional members on both sides behind each side of the board members.
I would like to thank Brandon Hodges for fulfilling another campaign promise. Tonight’s community meeting was good. The dialogue and conversation was clear and transparent.
I would like to thank the teachers and members of the community that came and participated. It is going to take many of these hard conversations to make any progress .
Relationships and trust can be rebuilt !
If you want to understand why our campuses resemble prison yards look at the new proposed student handbook.
Public Meeting Agenda: July 25, 2023 at 5:30 PM - Regular Meeting - BoardBook Premier
Something to ponder….
If the bond passes it will shut down Ranchland . Our community all heard that the Nueva Vista golf course has now sold. I wonder if there will be enough tee times for all the back door political deals ?
Pay close attention to the scores coming out of these campuses.
Make it make sense!
MISD rolls out Carnegie Math as pilot programs across the district. Scores are coming back and these programs did not do well. They are absolutely abysmal on certain campuses.
Solution: MISD let’s roll this program out district wide!
Opinion: MISD, learn from the mistakes of past bond campaigns Midland ISD, here are helpful suggestions once the district turns a $1.6-billion bond...
Volleyball tryouts 🏐
I have received multiple emails about board members not responding to emails. I would say give the board member about a week to respond as they do have other obligations and this is a non paid position. If you still are not getting a response then resend the email and CC Board President Tommy Bishop. I am sure he would be happy to assist you . He can’t fix something if he doesn’t know about it.
Communication and transparency lead to progress ❤️📚
It this passes it will be interesting to see how this will all play out with the chapter 42 reimbursement to the districts.
Opinion: If student outcomes aren't the focus for MISD, what are Hodges: It is time to do the work to improve student outcomes, manage chronic discipline...
Now think of the weight of that in terms of dollars
Some of our forgotten heroes of MISD! Much love and appreciation.
