Here is some information to know about s*xually transmitted diseases
1. STDs are incredibly common: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 1 million s*xually transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day worldwide. That's an astounding number!
2. Some STDs are asymptomatic: Some people with STDs may not show any symptoms at all, which can make it challenging to diagnose and treat these infections.
3. STDs can have long-term consequences: If left untreated, some STDs can lead to serious health problems, such as infertility, chronic pain, and even death.
4. Some STDs can be transmitted even with condom use: While using condoms can reduce the risk of contracting an STD, some infections, such as herpes and HPV, can still be transmitted even with proper condom use.
5. STDs don't discriminate: Anyone who is s*xually active can contract an STD, regardless of their age, gender, or s*xual orientation.
6. There are many different types of STDs: STDs can be bacterial, viral, or parasitic in nature, and there are dozens of different types of infections that fall under the umbrella of "STDs."
7. There are effective treatments for many STDs: While some STDs are incurable, such as HIV, there are effective treatments available for many other types of infections, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea.
8. Prevention is key: The best way to avoid contracting an STD is to practice safe s*x, get tested regularly, and talk to your s*xual partners about their s*xual health history.
Overall, while STDs may not be the most glamorous topic, there is a lot of fascinating information to learn about these infections, and it's essential to be informed about how to protect yourself and others from contracting them.

Well its not surprising that your body changes during pregnancy but did you know..
🔸 That your baby can send its own cells to different parts of your body and these can act as stem cells. These have been found to remain in the mother long after giving birth, even decades. There are theories that indicate that these cells may help heal injured tissues in the mother. There is a theory that they may also help destroy cells which could cause breast cancer
🔸 By the end of the first trimester, the kidney start secreting urine.
Near term, the urine production rises to 650 mL/day. However, kidneys are not essential for survival of the fetus in utero but is maintaining the amniotic fluid(fluid around the baby)
🔸 There are a number of changes that occur to the mothers body during pregnancy one of it is expansion of the blood volume. That itself can cause upto 1.3 kgs of weight gain.
🔸Most women notice a change in the feet size during pregnancy this could be because of the fluid build up and swelling of the feet.
If u liked this share it with a soon to be mama and follow for more.

“ If you meet the darkest moment of life, strive valiantly through it with courage and never retreat, for you shall surely meet light afterwards. If you meet the muddy stream of life, swim across it with tenacity to the very end for there is a clearer stream that shall wash your dirt away afterwards. If all people reject you in the mid of the arduous race of life, dare to smile and move on for there are people who await you to embrace you in the end “

As 2020 is coming to an end i hope that our struggle with this pandemic also comes to an end quickly. Hope we can finally take off our masks and meet in public. Hope the economic crisis is reverted back. Hope the people who are sick heal quickly. Hope the people who have faced losses start feeling peace and comfort in knowing that which is lost from our sight, but not from our hearts. So lets hang in to hope. And wind the clock, for tomorrow is another day 🖤.

There is so much misinformation about pcos. So I decided to make a post to debunk the myths.
1. Irregular periods = PCOS : PCOS is not the only cause for irregular cycles, there are many causes for irregular cycles, like thyroid disorders, infections, stress, etc
2. Its impossible to lose weight if you have PCOS: It is true that you might have a slightly more difficult time losing weight as compared to the normal individual but persisting and putting in the slight extra effort will pay off and you will see results. Do not follow fad diets. There is not particular “PCOS Diet” just the regular plain old healthy diet, cutting out sugar, junk food, alcohol and caffeine will help. Along with portion control and regular exercise.
3. Your ultrasound maybe be normal but if u have symptoms of irregular periods and increased male hormones you can still have PCOS
4. Thin women can still have PCOS.
5. Patients with PCOS can suffer from fertility issues. But not all patients have difficulty getting pregnant. Many conceive naturally. But if you dont, consulting your gynaecologist for fertility treatment will help.
6. Diary / organic food, etc has no association with PCOS.
Following a healthy active lifestyle will go a long way if you are suffering from PCOS.

Your baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid or ‘waters’ contained within a membrane bag (the amniotic sac) inside your uterus.
💧Preterm prelabour rupture of membranes (PPROM) is when your waters break before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy but you haven’t gone into labour yet.
💧Complications:
- Infection
- Premature delivery
- Problems pf prematurity for the baby
- Cord prolapse ( this is an emergency it can be life threatening for the baby)
- Abruption ( bleeding inside the womb)
💧After examining you and if you are well with no signs of infection and your baby is growing well in your uterus (womb) your doctor can decide to continue your pregnancy.
💧If you or your baby show any signs of infection or develop other complications, you may need to give birth to your baby straight away.
💧If you are being sent home you must watch out for these signs 👇🏼and return to the hospital immediately if you experience any of the following 👇🏼:
- raised temperature
- flu-like symptoms (feeling hot and shivery)
- vaginal bleeding
- if the leaking fluid becomes greenish or smelly contractions or cramping pain
- abdominal pain or back pain
- if you are worried that the baby is not moving as normal.
A cord blood bank is a facility which stores umbilical cord blood for future use. contains hematopoietic (which can differentiate only into blood cells.)
🩸Storing cord blood after delivery ensure the collection and storage of these stem cells which can be useful for your baby incase he/she develops
- blood cancers such as and
- certain disorders of the blood and immune systems, such as and
🩸You may choose to store your baby’s cord blood in a private bank so it can be available if needed in the future by your child or first- or second-degree relatives. Private cord banks typically charge fees for blood collection and storage.
🩸You can donate the cord blood to a public bank so that doctors can use it for a patient who needs a hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
* Jeevan (also known as BeTheCure ) in is the only public cord blood bank in India *
🩸Advantages:
- Faster availability
- Better tolerated than bone marrow grafts
- Lower incidence of rejection and also if it occurs it is of lesser severity
- Lower incidence of viral transmission
- Bone marrow donors may change their mind over time or may no longer be available.
🩸Disadvantages :
- Lower number of stem cells as compared with to bone marrow( sometimes it is so low that it is not acceptable for a transplantation )
- Lack of availability of subsequent stem cells in case of graft failure or disease relapse
- Poor storage results is the loss of integrity of that cells and make render it useless for future use.

If your is straightforward, flying is not harmful for you or your .
🤰When you are pregnant, the safest time to fly is:
- Before 37 weeks, if you are carrying one baby. From 37 weeks of pregnancy you could go into labour at any time, which is why many women choose not to fly after this time.
- Before 32 weeks, if you are carrying an uncomplicated twin pregnancy
🤰For whom is it unsafe to fly?
● close to delivery date
● severe
● recent
● and
● serious
● recent sickling crisis ( cell anemia)
● recent gastrointestinal surgery, including laparoscopic surgery
● a fracture, where significant leg swelling can occur in flight
🤰There is risk for developing a blood clot in your veins during a long flight.
To minimise it:
● have an aisle seat to facilitate ease of movement
● take regular walks around the cabin and/or;
● carry out in–seat approximately every 30 minutes on a medium or long–haul flight
● maintain a good fluid intake and minimise caffeine and alcohol intake to avoid dehydration
( check with your gynaecologist if you are at a higher risk for than normal)
🤰Other pointers:
- You will have to go through the normal security checks before flying. This is not considered to be a risk to you or your baby.
- You must wear a seatbelt. You should ensure the strap of your seatbelt is reasonably tightly fastened across the top of your thighs and then under your bump. Ask the cabin crew if you need a seatbelt extension.
- Any pregnant woman has a small chance of going into early or for her waters to break early. If this happens to you on a flight, there is no guarantee that other passengers or crewmembers will be trained and experienced to help you give birth safely. As a result, the pilot may have to divert the flight to get help for you.
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the inner lining of the womb (endometrium) is found elsewhere, usually in the pelvis, around the womb, ovaries and fallopian tubes.
🩺 How do you know if you have endometriosis?

🍼 Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recommends that a COVID positive mother can breast feed her baby if she wants to. ( Most studies show that the virus is not secreted into the breast milk)
🍼 There is no contraindication to rooming in with the baby
🍼 It is very unlikely that the baby might test positive and become unwell due to covid.
🍼 If the mother has cough it is better to wear a fluid resistant surgical mask while feeding or holding the baby.
🍼 Babies should not wear masks or other face coverings as they may risk suffocation!
🍼 But it is also ok, to isolate away from the baby if you worried about infecting the baby. It is better to express the milk and discard it to maintain lactation until she is no longer infectious (10 days after onset of symptoms).
