“8 years ago, as a college senior in Baltimore, Maryland, I started experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack. I would go on to have two heart surgeries at University of Maryland Medical Center- one a week before and one a month after my 22nd birthday.
Yesterday, I was able to speak at BMORE Lifestyle on My TV Baltimore about those experiences and visit my alma mater, Morgan State University. It was a full circle moment. See, despite the brutal recovery process and the concerns of my doctors, I went back to Morgan State to finish my bachelor’s degree in Finance becoming the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college.
Today, I’m passionate about students pursuing their purpose because I know that adversity will come. Maybe not in college, but certainly in life. If you can begin to understand that your talents and gifts are the answer to someone’s problem, you can use that as fuel when the adversity arises. You can be the change agent in your world.” Co-author Jerome
Yes, college is an investment but the degree should not be your only return.

This is how I paid for my degree from Hampton University. Notice something? 🗣I only received two scholarships. This is what we mean we tell students to search for multiple streams of college funding- we want you to diversify your (college funding) portfolio! Internships, fellowships, grants, special programs, etc. are available if you know what they are and how to apply for them.
