acquiring new skills, sharing experiences, learning foreign languages S. A. V.
E. - Surviving Ancient Values of Europe - it is a project co-financed by the European Union, thanks to which students will expand their knowledge and experience an unforgettable adventure. :)
Today we departed from a hotel earlier than usually because we went on a long and interesting UNESCO-Ephesus-Seluck-Sirince-Kusadasi-Izmir Tour. The next thing we did was visiting House of Virgin Mary and Emphesus. Afterwards, we ate traditional Turkish lunch in Sirince. We ended the day with visiting Isabey Mosque and enjoying some free time in Kusadasi Horbour city.
Unfortunately that was our last full day in Turkey. Big thanks for the host families, students and teachers from the Akhisar Koleji school for such a wonderful welcoming and giving us the opportunity to discover your country’s culture.
Hello everyone! Today was a very busy day. We started it off with clay tablet workshop, followed by a coffee break and painting classes. After lunch our Turkish friends presented “international cultural heritage" drama for us which was so interesting! We ended the day with a volleyball tournament and some dinner in the city.
See you guys tomorrow!
Hello dear friends, our third day and activities prepared by Turkish school went amazing. In the early morning we left Akhisar and went to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pamukkale and Hierapolis Ancient City. It was an amazing and developmental experience. We explored travertines of Pamukkale wich were breathtaking. After the lunch we visited big textile factory placed in Pamukkale and Karahayit. At 8 pm we returned Akhisar.
It was an exciting and busy day.
The second day was full of sightseeing - after trying some traditional Turkish delicacies at school, the bus took us to the Ancient City of Pergamon. Among the activities, there were for instance: parchment workshop and the historical tour in the area of the Acropolis. What impressed us the most was a magnificent temple of Trajan; we could also see the Altar of Zeus and the Red Basilica - the most important monuments of Pergamon. In the evening the students got some time for a free dinner at Novada Mall. It was a perfect day!
Hello dear friends!
As some of you might know, it is time for another Erasmus+ excursion - on Sunday we arrived to the lovely Turkish city named Akhisar, where we are going to stay for a week. During the first day of our project activities we participated in a welcome ceremony and were pleased with a presentation related to Akhisar Koleji and its mind-blowing history. The coordinators organised some ice-breakers that enabled us to get to know other students better as well as spend a valuable time together. Later, the whole group had visits to The Mayor, the District Governor and the Director of National Education in the city centre. There was also an opportunity to walk around and admire the views. At 4PM we went to see the ancient ruins as part of Akhisar Museum. Our day finished with amazing dinner at our host families' houses.
Hi guys! We are currently in the process of choosing the new group for mobility to Turkey. Everyone is working really hard - the outcome of our work are: new posters and a roll up in our school! We can’t wait to welcome you here:)
PS We are still making our Erasmus Corner, so stay tuned for more updates!!!
Hi friends!!!
Saturday was the day we bid our goodbyes to our colleagues and had to come back to Poland. The coach came to pick us up early in the morning and we headed to Bari, and afterwards - to our homelands. On behalf of all the participants of the Erasmus+ S.A.V.E. project, we would like to give a huge thank you to all the coordinators that made our trip so lovely and enjoyable. We would especially like to express our gratitude to the coordinators from Italy, Mrs Trofimena Proto, Mrs Barbara Lombardi and Mrs Anna Maria Moretti, who have planned many activities for us and organised the whole mobility, as well as Mrs Marzena Rosińska, the main coordinator of the project, who gave us the opportunity to explore the depths of European heritage and meet wonderful people from all around the world. We will miss the warm Italian weather, delicious coffee and ice cream and the mesmerising views in Bernalda. We also wish all the best for our friends from Italy, Turkey, Portugal and Greece and we hope to see you all soon! :)
SEVENTH DAY
Hi friends!!! We've just realised that we are at the end of our Italian journey, as time flies by so quickly. This morning the first thing we did was accopanying our hosts during their classes. Not only did we have a chance to observe how diverse the education systems turned out to be, but broadened our knowlegde and learned some Italian as well. As it is our last day in Bernalda, doing imporant paperwork could not be missed - we had to spend a few hours in the school signing documents and participating in the official Italian farewell ceremony. We ate lunch with our host families and after that, when the evening came, the students and teachers gathered together for the last time to eat delicious pizza in wonderful company. The time spent in a local pub was also an opportunity for us to exchange contacts as well as social media. It was extremaly hard to say goodbye, we will miss our new friends and that magical atmosphere.
SIXTH DAY
Hi friends!!! On Thursday we went for a trip to Alberobello, where we visited tiny traditional Italian houses named trulli. The architectural simplicity of all of them is what we found most fascinating and pleasing to the eye. After the much needed espresso, it was time to travel to Metaponto where the ruins of the ancient Achaean colony still remain. What's more, the town happens to be located near the stunning coast of Jonic Sea, ideal to rest for a while. Around 6 PM we came back to Bernalda and headed to a dinner with our wonderful host families.
FIFTH DAY
Hi friends!!! It was the day we all have been waiting for. We started it off by joining our Italian friends’ classes. It was a wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in cultures of our colleagues’ homelands. Afterwards, we were fascinated by a magnificent musical performance the Italian students have prepared for us using self made putipù, an instrument traditionally used in folk music in Southern Italy. The most important part of the day was our meeting with the Bernalda’s mayor, as well as city council, which we attended at 4 pm. We exchanged gifts and took photos together. To finish the day off we visited the Castle of Bernalda (Castello di Bernalda) and ate some delicious Italian food for dinner.
FOURTH DAY
Hi friends!!! Tuesday was a day full of adventures - we spent it in Matera, to which we departed at about 8 in the morning. It is worth mentioning that the whole city is carved out of rock and this is where some scenes for the James Bond movies were shot. We enjoyed our guided tour very much as it let us get to know the history of the town and see the most important monuments. Alongside the other buildings we saw, the one that we were most impressed by, was the representative cathedral of Matera. Then we had four free hours to purchase souvenirs, eat lunch and socialize with our friends while doing some sightseeing. On the way back to Bernalda we stopped near the ruins of Hera's temple. The day finished with delicious dinner, which we ate all together in a traditional restaurant. We had an amazing evening!
THIRD DAY
Hi friends!!! Our third day started off by getting to know mysteries of Bernalda high as well as meeting the coordinators, teachers of various subjects, and, most importantly, the headmaster. Afterwards, we explored the depths of our home countries' UNESCO heritage through the presentations we had prepared beforehand. Then, the time to exchange gifts has come as well. We were given plenty of leisure time later, during which we ate some delicious gelato (as always, of course) and decided to rest at the park nearby along with other students. Moreover, we had the opportunity to see around the city and watch some magnificent views. The trip was led by the Italian coordinators, who acquainted us with the knowledge of town's history. We finished our day off by eating dinner with our host families.
SECOND DAY
Hi friends!!! Today we finally had a chance to meet our wonderful companions from other countries involved in the project. We had visited a lovely Italian coffee shop beforehand. Moreover we stumbled upon a flee market, which our foreign friends loved. Of course, a daily dose of gelato couldn’t have been missed:) Then we moved to the shopping center. We did some groceries and finished our trip with typical Italian dinner: pizza and pasta. On the way back we picked our Portuguese collegues up and after 2 hours arrived to Bernalda. Goodnight guys!
FIRST DAY
Hi friends!!! Long time no see:) After some complications, we’ve finally arrived at sunny Bari, located in the south of Italy. We spent today’s afternoon sightseeing as well as strolling around the historical part of the city. Not only did we manage to visit the Basilica di San Nicola, but in addition to that we had the opportunity to try delicious Apulian cuisine. Enjoy the photos of our dishes and the magnificent city center! Now we are extremely content with the begging of our mobility. See you tomorrow!
Good evening everyone! One of our Italian friends from the project, who lives near Bernalda, has just sent us a few photos from South Italy (these are the examples of what we are going to see during our upcoming mobility). Some pics may be of poor quality, but we can't help it, because this is how we got them. The captions under each picture were prepared by our foreign friend.😊😊 She said that ,, the rest is to be discovered... " 😎 We can't wait to meet you all and spend time with you during various workshops and activities! And, of course, we hope to see as much as possible; UNESCO sites are waiting for us! Just one more month and we will be admiring the wonderful Italian atmosphere. 🌞
Back to work! How do you feel about the fact that the holidays are coming to an end? We know that it may be immensely hard for some of us to get our act together and find motivation but what's definitive is that the next mobility to Italy is right around the corner. The meeting of the project participants in the....
Guys!
What's up? How are you doing? If you have a lot to do and if you are a bit overworked, we have some pics for you that will allow you to feel the Greek atmosphere again and will remind you of our last mobility. 😎 It's been quite a long time since our visit to Kerasochori but we still remember all those wonderful moments and we can't wait to see our friends again. Hopefully the upcoming trips will be equally precious and unforgettable. Anyway, enjoy the photos and let us know what interesting things you've been doing recently. In Poland the weather is getting better and better as summer is right around the corner. That's why currently we can benefit from the sun and admire beautiful green plants, so numerous in Poznań. 🌞🌳
Our flight today is scheduled for 7:25 PM so there's time to get bearings and summarize the trip. We have already parted ways with our newly met friends and we can honestly say that the participants from Greece, Turkey, Italy and Portugal are wonderful people from whom we have learned a lot. We had an amazing time, we saw a lot of places in Greece, we learned about the national heritage and we practiced our English (especially speaking skills). We would like to express our gratitude, mainly to the Greek coordinators and all those who planned all those great activities for us. Thank you for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to gain new experiences! 😊 We will miss you all very much. 🥺 See you soon at the next mobilities! ❤️
Yesterday we said goodbye to the participants from Kerasochori and we set off for Athens with a slight delay (the bus broke down). On the way to the Greek capital we went to the local diary factory in Karpen*si and the workers explained to us how they make various kinds of cheese - the presentation was combined with tasting traditional cheeses, such us graviera and feta with oregano and olive oil. We also bought some feta in order to bring with ourselves a tasty gift to Poland. Then we paid a quick visit at the Thermopyles museum and we saw a 3D video about Leonidas and the battle between Sparta and Persia. After a while we stopped for lunch and we arrived to Athens at about 8 PM.
On Thursday we saw a few beautiful waterfalls in Fregista. The best thing was that we had the opportunity to see a natural washing machine. The Greek coordinator planned for us a guided tour of Kerasochori so we had a pleasant walk and then went hungry for lunch in school canteen. After that we had a lot of free time while we played UNO with Portuguese students, had a table tennis tournament and a volleyball competition in the open air. It was time for integration and rest. In the evening we had a farewall dinner, during which we were pleased with some traditional music. At the end of the day the Greeks invited us to participate in folk dancing - the party was amazing and we had a lot of fun together.
Today we explored Viniani - we saw the Village and the Brigde of Viniani and we went on hiking nearby. During the walk we visited a few old churches. We learnt a lot about the history of this place and the mountain lanscapes were beautiful so we took many amazing photos. After that we came back to the Greek school for lunch and the coordinators gave us about 3 hours of free time. Today we had a movie evening as well and at the end of the day we ate dinner and socialized with new friends.
Tuesday was our second day here, in Greece. We visited the Evritania Cultural History Centre and we got to Kerasochori where we had the opportunity to meet the mayor of the town and exchange gifts. It was a very pleasant time! During the second part of the day we finally met our great friends from Greece - we participated in various activities in their school. We explored this place and, moreover, each team had a presentation about their cultural or natural heritage (we could get to know other countries better). After lunch we checked-in at the guesthouse and we spent our free time there. In the evening, Mr. George entertained us with a wonderful shadow theater and we also created our own movable figures. Then it was time for integration - for example, some of us played table tennis in the school. 😊
By the way, two days ago we arrived to Athens. We spent one night in the hotel and yesterday in the morning we started our tour with visiting Acropolis with our foreign friends. First we saw the ancient temples of the Greek gods with a guide. It is worth mentioning that we also had the opportunity to admire the Theater of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. The next part of our trip was visiting the Acropolis Museum - glass building at the foot of the Acropolis. We saw a huge amount of original sculptures. After that we had a long trip to Karpen*ssi with a lunch break on the coast. As soon as we got to our next hotel, we left our luggage and went to the Mountain Museum (which was the last activity for today). It was great! 🇬🇷
Good evening, we would like to share with you the message from our Turkish friends who participated in the first mobility to Porto:
,, Hi, we want to say that we miss you all, the trip to portugal was amazing together. we experienced a lot of things and made new friends. now, it's time to make another friends. we hope we can meet someday. good luck during your project in greece. we love you ❤️ "
Aloha! Hello dear friends!
We are working on various things concerning going to 🇬🇷Greece. We have already bought our ✈️airline tickets and we know the plan for that project week. Yesterday, during the meeting with our coordinator, we discussed the details (because the trip is quickly approaching - it will be in a week and a half) and planned the way we want to promote the project at our school. We are organizing open days in St. Mary Magdalene High School for new students. There will also be the week of culture and languages soon. On the occasion of these events, we would like to encourage students to join our project by preparing several 🙌🏻activities for them. We will tell you more about it soon and we are going to show you some 📸photos. Stay tuned!
We would like to share with you a short message from the Portuguese students. 😊
,, We think that week was one we will never forget, we met amazing people.
They showed us things that we didn't know that existed, and of course we showed them too.
We just hope one day we can see you again so we can get to know you better!
A kiss from Carina and Sara from Portugal.
Hi friends! We have great news for you. A new Erasmus+ team has been chosen to attend the exchange in Greece. We hope to see you all there soon!
During these few days we have fulfilled our tasks and you will see the results soon. One of our teams is currently working on a website and the others are responsible for our eTwinning accounts to be able to organise international meetings with other Erasmus+ participants there. Additionally, we are going to share with you the message from our Portuguese friends who would love to tell us about how our visit looked from their point of view. Stay tuned;)
Hello dear friends!
Tomorrow is a big day for our Polish team. As we mentioned before this Tuesday we will select four lucky students to go on an Erasmus+ exchange. We’re all working in full swing so we bet the selection will be really hard.
Wish us all luck!☺️
