Dear Huckleberry,
Thank you. For being my little spotted shadow. My constant companion. Napping buddy and agility savant. You were my titanium—toothed guard dog and my road trip navigator. I miss feeling your velvety soft ears, smelling your wiry fur and looking into your liquid brown eyes. I miss your little jumps for joy running down the sidewalk, your spotted underwear, and your crooked tail. I am deeply honored you were my dog, and I will carry you in my heart forever. From the rainbow that appeared in our backyard just after you passed, I know you are safe, happy and free now. Goodbye sweet boy.
