You were all part of 2,000 total finishers, and we congratulate you on your 5K / Kids Dash finish! We're already excited for 2023 and we will be updating the registration page in the coming weeks ahead with information about next year as we re-launch our ‘commitment week’ discounts to register early! Peanuts is here to stay in Dallas for many years to come...

Welcome to the ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas 5K’! We look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow bright and early!

That weekend winter feeling as event day is upon us! This morning we sent out our event guide via email with all the details, and make sure to check your inbox/spam if you didn’t get those! If not, see text below and reference our website at dallasholiday5k.com to see the images referenced in the text below under ‘event details’:

Packet Pickup begins today and event weekend is upon us! We thank you for joining us and reading this long email ahead of event day to make sure you're fully prepared for everything to come. Read thru it quick and feel prepared to crush event day!

WHEN DOES THE EVENT START?
THIS Saturday, December 17th
Snoopy Kids Dash Run/Walk begins at 8:00AM
5K Run/Walk begins at 8:30AM

Allow Snoopy (image below) to show everyone the appropriate attire for Saturday...kidding, obviously (sorta)! It will be a cold one this weekend, with a real feel in the 30's on event morning. For those unfamiliar with Trinity Groves and the course, the wind off the water on the trail can also make it feel colder in that area and near the start line than what is sometimes forecast, so prepare your morning attire accordingly. Layer up. Get there early to beat the traffic, park and relax (nap!) in your nice temperature-controlled car until walking up near start time. Similar to other races/events this time of year! For those wondering, we do not have heaters in the staging area (sorry!). However, we will have Mayweather Boxing on-site to lead a pre-race warmup after the kids dash begins at 8am for anyone that wants to stay warm with us!

Below, we have listed all of the key information for the event so please make sure to read through this at your convenience. Yes, we know it's long (we hear you!), but we want to be as thorough as possible to make your event day as smooth as possible!!!

1. Official run courses and parking map can be found BELOW. The event starts and finishes at the Continental Bridge Gateway Plaza West, right near the intersection of Singleton Blvd. and Gulden Ln.

Thanks to our partnership with Trinity Groves, we have over 2,000 parking spaces via the highlighted map above (fyi, not to exact scale but just for perspective). With 2,000 participants we'll have about 1,000 cars parking with an average of two participants per car based on our registration data. Please just be patient and plan ahead with any traffic that may exist to get into the lots at Trinity Groves, since many of you will be entering via 1-2 primary roads. The traffic light at Singleton Blvd. and Gulden Ln. can get backed up a good bit in the am, so just take your time and prepare accordingly! If coming in from another street, even better! The event has the luxury of starting at 8:30am, a bit later than most events to allow you a little extra rest and travel time. Just arrive a bit earlier than you are planning and sit/relax a bit in your cars to stay warm and know you are on time and ready to go!

#1 & #2 on the parking map are the gravel lots near the staging area. We'll have parking attendants in the lot to maximize the space, first come first serve.

DO NOT PARK ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD SIDE STREETS OFF GULDEN/CANADA IN FRONT OF SOMEONE'S HOME. YOU RISK BEING TOWED IF PARKED IN FRONT OF SOMEONE'S HOME. SIMILAR TO OTHER EVENTS ANYWHERE.

2. Remember while on the course to stay to the right of any cones, follow the directional signage all across the course, and we kindly ask that walkers and strollers line up behind the runners at the start line before beginning.

For all 5K participants, follow the directional signage near the turnaround point at mile 2

3. Packet Pickup is TODAY AND TOMORROW at Sun & Ski, very important to remember we will event day packet pickup if you selected it during registration for the extra $5 and we have already sent you your pass to show on event day, if so.

*We do not mail packets if you can't make it to packet pickup and/or event day*

**There will be no event day gear check. Please securely store your belongings in your vehicle or leave at home. Remember this is a shopping/residential area that is open to the public, so PLEASE leave valuables out of sight within your vehicles. Event is not responsible for any lost/stolen items from vehicles**

4. After you have completed your 5K, the fun continues! Swing by our post-race hospitality area near the start/finish line to visit our vendors on-site and enjoy refreshments, including cool Peanuts backdrop photo ops, kids activities and other treats for ALL participants! Santa will also be on hand to take pictures with!

5. Photographers will be on-site to provide high quality photos of your participation in the event. Your photos will be posted soon after the event and you can search for your photos by your last name or your bib number. Watch for discounts that will be offered.

Tips for better race photos:
· Wear your bib on the front of your shirt.
· Pin all 4 corners of your bib.
· Pull your cap/hat away from your face.
· If running with a friend/family, run shoulder to shoulder while your photos are shot.
· Smile

6. Event results will be available immediately on our website and via direct email. If you're eligible for a 1st place award overall by age bracket (see brackets on our official website, if interested), please stay for the ceremony that'll take place approximately 60-90 minutes after event start. We do not have 2nd or 3rd place awards. We will not be mailing awards after the event.

7. Please keep "Rules of the Road" in mind when running. If walking during the event, stay to the right of the trail at all times and pass on the left when possible. Reminder that this event is on a trail, please be courteous of other participants and aware of your surroundings. For competitive participants, please remember this is a 'friendly' competition. Safety first! This will be a very busy course, not a typical 'PR buster'!

Due to insurance restrictions, animals, skates or other vehicular apparatus are not allowed by participants on the race course.

Headphones are not recommended during the race, but not prohibited. Please stay aware and in-tune with your surroundings for the safety of others around you.

8. Restrooms will be located in the start/finish area and we have one water stop on the course at the halfway point. Feel free to carry your own water if you have any additional needs.

9. If anyone needs medical attention during the event, we will have an EMS service provided right near the start/finish line. If you're on the course and see a fellow runner in need, find the closest volunteer/officer or dial 911. You will notice officers in the start/finish area, go to them as needed as well.
