“Nursing is evolving and I can still be a nurse online and not at the bedside, even though I still am doing clinical work. But I think that's been the biggest thing for me is just that I'm very, I can do this. I've got the skills to back it up and just do it. Like it still terrifies me that I still have imposter syndrome a lot of the time.
Just sort of getting comfortable with that discomfort of new things and just making it up as I go along and that that's okay.”

“I think recognising that we have to patient in the journey. We all want everything to be immediate, especially as women, as busy high achieving women, who want to be the best at everything and never drop one of the spinning plates that we have. I think it’s really important to recognise our seasons, our journey and that we have to be patient and there are parts of the season that feel fast. But the best work is slow deep work”

Words and art from

"Just remember that when your body rolls and folds, it isn’t wrong.
When you next look in the mirror — ready to pinch, hide, pull or hurt any parts of you that don’t conform or shrink to fit diet-cultures’ harmful standards —if I need to make more art just to scream it from you roof tops !! YOU are NOT a flaw 🧡

even if you can’t see it today or tomorrow. Next time you face the mirror and don’t like what you see; be patient.

Love takes time, and those parts of yourself you want to change instead, just look at with a lens of acceptance — that you do not need to be any smaller, curvier, taller, etc to be loved.

Bodies fold and twist, dimple, grow… The acceptance of it is magic that shouldn’t have been taken from us to begin with. I hope now, with kinder eyes, you instead
come
Home.

And one day, maybe fall in love with how the light sits soft on your thighs and not need to say or think anything else other than that

“I think the key message that I want to
out to listeners is that unlearning internalized fatphobia is going to be a process that takes your entire life. It doesn't just stop all of a sudden, similarly to unlearning racism. It's something that you're going to have to be willing to be open to and be willing to understand that everyone makes mistakes.” - Demi Lynch

Did you had the s*x talk with your parents? It's time to move beyond a once off chat about the birds and the bees.

In our latest episode with Abby, we discuss the importance of age appropriate, ongoing, s*x-positive conversations with our kids. Let's create a safe space where they can ask questions about gender, s*xuality, pleasure, and anatomy without shame.

Here are three essential topics to cover:
1. S*xual Health: Access to comprehensive s*xual health education is crucial for healthy s*xual development. This includes understanding the anatomy of the body, contraception, reproductive health, and STIs.
2. Consent: Mutual communication, respectful boundaries, and affirmative ongoing consent are essential for healthy s*xual relationships. Kids need to understand what consent means and why it's important. Teach them that they have the right to say no to any activity they're not comfortable with.
3. Pleasure: Exploring pleasure can promote physical and emotional wellbeing and healthy s*xual development. It's normal to explore your own body in a safe way.

Image Description: A Venn diagram is pictured with the title “Conversations with your children about s*x”. There are three circles for “consent”, “s*xual health” and “pleasure”. With the overlap in the middle being “normal not awkward”.

Did you hear Abby from use the term ‘v***a owner’ in our recent episode? Or perhaps you saw *xologist recent interview on the where host Larry Edmure was a little confused by the phrase?

It’s an inclusive term used in the context of discussions about the specific body part or it’s function. It acknowledges the experiences of gender diverse individuals beyond traditional and binary gender norms, who possess a v***a.

It's not a replacement for "woman" but promotes inclusivity and respect without diminishing anyone's dignity.

Although some have said it’s disparaging, there’s nothing controversial about defining a group of people by a body part or function in a context where that body part is relevant.

We love a book recommendation and in our episode with Abby from she talks about the book 'Better S*x Through Mindfulness' by

One of the topics discussed in the book is the correlation between how we perceive the external features of our body and our potential lack of interoceptive awareness. This can lead to self-objectification of our appearance, which can often hinder our ability to experience intimacy in the bedroom.
