FC Lion Pride is a second division club in Sierra Leone. The club strives to be the best in the country both ethically and in the game. Club objectives:
1.
FC Lion Pride is a first football club with humanitarian mission. Sierra Leone is a West African country with 6.8 million inhabitants. Most Sierra Leoneans are passionate about soccer and majority
of the youths are very talented. However, due to the prevalence poverty, it has been difficult to realize the potentials of the talented youths. There is lack of football equipment and especially the

We are proud ambassadors of Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary 🐒!
📌 Did you know that chimps are our closest living relatives? They are highly intelligent and behave like us. 🙊 🤭
📌 It is illegal to kill, capture or keep chimpanzees as pets in Sierra Leone! ❌👮🏿
📌 Chimpanzee is our national animal - let's protect them together! 🙌🏿 🇸🇱
Thank you Tacugama for all your hard work - protecting our environment, wildlife, and heritage! 🙏🏿
Conservation football is a great tool to spread the word on conservation and environmental related initiatives!
Last week, Lion Pride FC visited Tacugama and were overwhelmed and excited to see the chimpanzees - their National Animal. The footballers made a promise to be our ambassadors to sensitise their communities and undertake various activities in collaboration with Tacugama.
We are now proud sponsors of the Lion Pride FC which also means growing our &Shoots Program and celebrating their 30 years!
We are very sadden to announce the passing of our goal keeper coach 'Jimmy' Sahr Pombor. Jimmy was with the team from the beginning (2015). He dedicated his life to football and has done an excellent job with all the players. He was an extremely caring person who was there for the players and staff also off the pitch. Jimmy went way too early and is already missed. Rest In Peace Big Coach ❤️🙏🏾⚽️
Gas and Nani are still in California proudly representing FC Lion Pride and Salone! ⚽ 🇸🇱️ What would be your good advice for them? 🙌🏿
We are truly happy for the 3 of our players who are currently abroad but also for the whole squad in Sierra Leone! Even though the league has not been played for a few years, we keep the spirit high! Train hard, dream big! 💪🏾⚽🏃🏿♂️🏆
Another of our players, Gas, has joined Orange County Soccer Club for a trial! Good luck Big Player! ⚽️🥅🇸🇱🇺🇸
And take it easy with that pizza 😉😅
Our player Nani is now in California for a trial with Orange County soccer club! Best of luck Big Player!

Exciting news! After a year in Vendsyssel FF, where Christian Moses was a top scorer, he was rented to another Danish club, Viborg FF ! We are very pleased for Christian and wish him a good season!
Statement from Viborg FF website (loose translation):
Viborg FF gets Vendsyssel's top scorer Christian Moses on an agreement that will run for the rest of 2018.
The striker from Sierra Leone is owned by the club FC Lion Pride but has recently been leased to Vendsyssel FF, where he is currently a top scorer but had contract outflows at the end of the year.
Now he is ready to pull in the green shirt, where he is rented from FC Lion Pride for the rest of 2018 with an option for a permanent agreement.
"I am really happy to be here and I am looking forward to playing for the club. It has been my goal to stay in Denmark, and I am very pleased to have signed with Viborg. It's a good club and I want to work hard for the team, and hopefully, I can continue to score many goals, just like I've also done for Vendsyssel, "said Moses.
Sports Manager Jesper Larsen welcomes the approach:
"We get a wildly exciting player in Christian Moses, who has already proved that he is a profile in the NordicBet League. He is moving, he is strong and so he can score goals. He is a player who can hurt most teams and we look forward to the cooperation."
Season's greetings to all of our fans and supporters! 💝⚽🎄
Today is the World Polio Day, and we are very proud of our brothers from FC Polio! Keep fighting, we believe in you!
Today is the World Polio Day.
Many of the guys in our programme are polio survivors. With your help, they get the chance to go to school or get vocational training. This allows them to get a job - something that is almost impossible when you are a disabled person in Sierra Leone. As the guys often say "life is not easy in Sierra Leone and people think that we, the disabled, cannot manage when everything is difficult for them, the 'able-bodied' people. But we just want to show them that we are able do ANYTHING that they can do, such as playing football!"
After all the exciting news about our players in Denmark, it's time to tell you how the squad is doing in Sierra Leone! As there are some organisational issues within the Sierra Leonean Football Association, the league hasn't started yet. Thus, only friendly matches are played right now. FC Lion Pride travelled to Kono to play against a division one team SKY EGELS and premier team DIAMOND STARS. We celebrated victory as we won both matches 3-0!

We apologise to all our Sierra Leonean and international supporters but today we will be posting only in Danish as there is a documentary about Joseph Kamara - Small Kaka in the Danish TV.

I aften kl 21:55 kan du se Joseph’s historie i Horisont. Han her her hos os i Vendsyssel FF og forfølger drømmen om at komme væk fra slummen i Freetown. Horisont følger i hans fodspor både her i Hjørring og videre ned til Kroo Bay i Sierra Leone.

What does Small Kaka say about his career?
Joseph Kamara aka Small Kaka (20 years old) FC Lion Pride Striker currently on loan in Vendssysel FF, Denmark
"I started playing football since I was 10 years old. I played for various teams in Sierra Leone and when I joined FC Lion Pride, I won many fights for the club. But only when I came to Denmark, I realised that football is not an easy game to play. To be a professional footballer, you have to work hard. So I always work very, very, very hard. Because I know this is my job, this is my career and I will always work hard. I promise I will always work hard because I want to be like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. In Africa, we don’t have good pitches to play on or good football boots, but when you come to Europe, you have all these facilities, good boots, good pitches, so I promise I will be the best in the world!"
You have probably noticed that Christian Moses is on a loan in a Danish football club Vendsyssel FF. However, it is not the only success that FC Lion Pride team experienced! Since this summer, Big Kaka (Mamadu Kalie Jalloh) and Small Kaka Joseph Kamara) have joined Christian in Denmark to play for Vendsyssel FF. In following few days, we will bring you their stories and tell about challenges that they had to overcome on their way to play football abroad!
We are aware that you follow our page to get football updates. However, as FC Lion Pride is a football club with a humanitarian purpose, we do feel responsible for the community. The disaster that happened on Monday left us all heartbroken, yet, in this time of sorrow, we still need to remember our safety as the spread of diseases such as cholera, typhoid and diarrhoea following the flooding is a huge concern. Please follow the safety instructions and help to keep your community safe!
We are deeply upset about today's event that affected Regent community in Freetown. A hillside collapsed following heavy rains. The estimations are that over 300 people lost their lives in the mudslide. Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected, and with all who lost friends and relatives in the mudslide. Keep strong everyone!
Abdul in Denmark
Our coach Abdul is in Denmark following Vendsyssel FF and learning about their training methods and how clubs are run in Europe. In the video, Abdul is talking about his Danish experience and the challenges Sierra Leonean teams have to face in comparison to the European clubs. We are thrilled to have our coach back and excited to see the new training sessions!
Today is the opening day of Dana Cup - the biggest international youth football tournament taking place in Denmark. As we informed you, the whole FC Lion Pride squad was in Ghana to get their visa, and ready to go to compete in Dana Cup. However, whether we like it or not, sometimes things in life don't go as we wish. The whole group was for one or another reason rejected the visas. It was very devastating for the boys as they were really excited to go and also put a lot of money in. Anyhow bitter we might feel about not going to the competition in Denmark, the squad stays positive and keep playing the game we love with good spirit, and hope that the next time everything will work out for us!
3 weeks ago, we announced that 5 of our players are in Ghana waiting for their visa. Do you know how many players arrived to Ghana to get there visa now? The FULL LION PACK! Let us know your guess where FC Lion Pride is going!
