Richard is the firstborn child of Vayne Riley. He lived his life dealing with the guilt of knowing that due to his birth his mother bled to death and died, that guilt weighing heavily on him throughout his teenage years and some into his adulthood.
He followed his best friend and cousin, Cain, into the police academy, and years later they're working together as detectives. Though, it's not easy working under humans' noses and pretending you're just as human as they are.
