On September 20th, conservative groups planned nationwide protests against teaching 2SLGBTQIA+ topics in schools, claiming to protect children. These demonstrations seek to eliminate Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity curriculum and policies from Canadian schools. These actions can be life-threatening for 2SLGBTQIA+ kids and teens.

As q***r and trans individuals, we understand the significance of being acknowledged and heard from an early age. The reality is that educating about 2SLGBTQIA+ topics and preparing teachers to offer support to q***r and trans youth holds the potential to prevent loss of life.

We are witnessing a rise in repression, hatred, and anger directed towards the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

At Q***r Mingle, we want to emphasize that our events are welcoming and safe spaces for q***r and trans individuals. We stand with q***r and trans youth, and we invite all members of the community to join us. Additionally, we have a WhatsApp group open to everyone in our community, providing a space for support and connection. We do not discriminate, and our events are not exclusive to just one group.

It's crucial to educate ourselves and others, take action, speak out, and prioritize the safety of the most marginalized in our communities.
