This fabric is a really excellent quality waxed canvas, initially made in Scotland and sold as end of rolls or remnants to makers like myself.

Behind the scenes of making my lovely friend .my.wardrobe new custom moon bag for her ❤️

This is an old bright red deadstock / end of roll waxed canvas. I’ve had it for at least 18 months (if not longer) and have waited for the right time to whip it out. It’s a bold colour and I’m curious to know how you guys feel about it 🤔 I love the way it turned out but I know the bright colours aren’t everyone’s cuppa ☕️

The electric blue MOON 🌙💙

This bright blue waxed canvas will be coming into stock tomorrow in the brand new design and shape and I am so bloody effin hyped 💥 It is such an amazing colour and vibe and I really think you guys are gonna like this one!

As with all manners made bags, this new design (Moon) will have adjustable straps and double zips and be fully lined with an inner pocket. The strap is made from the same material as the bag itself so it gives a slightly different feel.

The brown waxed canvas crossbody in the Classic size is coming into stock on Sunday 28th at 11am 💥

Get ready for a big drop - this is the first of two fabrics coming in this Classic crossbody 🤎 🪡

ITS HERE!! An official introduction to the new style, meet the Moon!! 🌙 💫 I am SO excited to be finally releasing these beautiful creations and adding them to the Manners Made core designs.

The moon is a modern, minimal style that can be worn either crossbody or over one shoulder with an adjuster for your preferred length ⭐️ I wanted this bag to have a half moon silhouette at the top, with volume in the bottom of the bag to give it it’s own shape and ‘look’.

Comfort, attention to detail, functionality, durability and unisex design have all been taken into consideration when i started developing these bags, and I’m happy to say that the Moon has incorporated all of Manners Made / my core values 🌝

As always, these have been designed and made by me, and I can’t wait to share more details of these bags with you tomorrow in reels and videos to give you the full experience and real introduction ❤️

Lastly, I will be releasing these on Sunday 28th May at 11am BST. This particular fabric is a gorgeous brown waxed canvas that has tons of character 🤎

Production underway 🫡

Double zips for me are a must when making a bag. The quality of these zips are second to none and chimes in perfectly to the sustainable aspect of what I do. I want to be sure that these things can be sturdy and reliable in practise and practical when it’s worn.

All the little things like this add up to a product that is trustworthy 🌟

What’s coming into stock tomorrow I hear you ask? 💭

There will be a restock of the Black Canvas Classic Crossbody. This is a popular choice for a lot of people and a staple re-stock.

There will also be a drop of Navy waxed canvas classics which I am stoked for! I absolutely love this fabric and cannot wait for more people to get their hands on it.

Lastly, there will be the first ever batch of big totes in a black dry waxed cotton.

New designs baby!!! What do you think? It’s super fun to do some experimenting and put pen to paper. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for the last 6 months!!

How does everyone feel about slouchy moon shape shoulder bags…? Does it need an adjuster for the strap? Are we keeen on the size?

It’ll be a month or so until these are finalised as I need to perfect some details and order in the right zips etc but I want to make these as a fun, slouchy sidekick to the crossbody bags 🤙🏻 thoughts needed & welcomed!

STUDIO UPDATE!

Here are some pics I’ve taken today to share the progress and where I’m at. As this is mainly a workspace, I want to get it to a “working studio” place which it definitely is now. There are still pictures and patterns that need putting up, but all in good time 😊 After 2 weeks of painting / drying / cleaning / moving I’m finally spending my first few days here actually working 🤙🏻🌟 it feels super weird but in the most exciting way.

Now I am getting back to making and developing some new products and considering doing a little “moving sale” on my existing stock, if you guys would be up for that? I don’t have tons of stock, but it would be really nice to refresh the stock and give way for some new things. What do you think? let me know your thoughts!! I will be waiting 🤔

The realities of the behind the scenes - A big pile of yummy fabrics ready to be sewn up and re-born 🫶🏻

The making process isn’t always pretty but the end result sure is. This is a sneak peak of a very special offcut from a local upholstery business. I managed to get a very small amount of this sagey velvet but it’s just enough to make a few and so that is where we begin this January 🙌🏻

I have made a batch of Minis which I think always go well with layering lots of winter coats and jumpers underneath. Perfect for the cooler weather here in the U.K. ❄️ Also these have the antique brass mini zips which go beautiful with these autumnal colours.

Handmade by myself, with always limited quantities due to the very small quantities of deadstock fabric used. This particular fabric was provided by which is an excellent zero-waste brand. I am happy to have acquired this fabric, and used it, because it’s really so beautiful ♥️ Thank you!

Deadstock = not always consistent which is the price you pay for using fabrics that are essentially offcuts, leftovers or surplus. I love this aspect of making sustainably wouldn’t have it any other way. Roll on using up what we already have, and making it become beautiful and desirable.

The black waxed will be back, I am nearly certain, just got to wait for the right moment again⭐️

I am slowly using up all of my Black waxed canvas, this batch here is some of the last of my original batch collected almost a year ago! It’s a light-ish fabric weight, flexible too and oh so perfect against the beige colour.

So many awesome fabrics have been up-cycled into bags since I began making, and this brown corduroy Mini crossbody is no exception 🤎

There’s a funny mixture of fabrics listed on my website right now and that is because of the huge array of pre-loved materials to choose from. I don’t necessarily do “stock colours or fabrics”, my brand materials are anything and everything there is out there that needs to be used and loved!
