The white material, isn't as gold rich, as the darker material. It's odd, how the coloration, changes the gold content per pan.
Knowing the geology, to a point, it's clear that different time periods, in the volcanic sludge, contained different levels of gold, in the fluid that makes up this complex.
Another factor, using natural spring water, to pan, vs tap water, makes a huge difference, when testing for gold. Fine gold floats! Jetdry does work, but only to a point.
When dealing with deteriorated rhyolite, several factors come into play. the worst one to deal with is how volcanic clay, likes to grab fine gold.
You can literally pan, a small shovel full, and maybe find a couple specks. Spending time, braking down, all "clay balls" by hand, is absolutely crucial.
Second is toxicity! When dealing with native gold, arsenic is a factor! Not to mention, other valuable metals, that have a toxic kicker! Direct contact, panning" can be hazardous to your health.
Panning in a stream bed, isn't the same as the actual source.
There are some places, in Nevada, that are deadly toxic. Luckily, I don't have that concentration, of substances, such as arsenic. Though the danger is still there, it is always best, to get a sample test, to a lab, before exposing yourself, to possibly deadly levels of arsenic, and or, radiation!

Most of the gold, has already been discovered.
Knowing how to find native gold structures, without a lab, isn't as hard as most people think! Luring my panning technique, will help you walk gold, out of any pan,,, if it's actually there! "Tip and was" is absolutely not viable, in locating micro gold! I watched a geologist, that has a huge reputation, as a gold guy, completely miss micro gold.

Running some material today, with very fine gold. The object of this setup, is to run low water pressure, with minners moss, with a mat under it. I ran 12lbs of material, fighting clay and water tension, and still end up with a good line of gold. Stay tuned for my next 12lb clean up, now that I know my set up works.
