Project Idea - Be My Neighbor Day! February 20th
In collaboration with Georgia Public Libraries and GPB, "Be My Neighbor Day" is a celebration encouraging patrons to do something Mister Rogers would be proud of.
This could be activities like: setting the table for meals, taking out the trash, cleaning their rooms, being a good student, being polite, picking up toys, not throwing a tantrum, being nice to their siblings, etc.
For more information: https://www.gpb.org/neighbor
Shout out to Kathryn Youles for the great idea!
February is Library Lovers Month! Here are some ideas that can easily be done (mostly or all) virtually! Post photos below when you do something, we would love to see!
âť– Work with your local library, hosting events including sponsoring a speaker or author, holding craft sessions, or reading aloud to children.
âť– Establish, become a steward of or replenish a Little Free Library (littlefreelibrary.org); these are outdoor boxes of books where you may pick up a book and bring back it or another to share. Leave sanitizers there to promote healthy sharing.
âť– Hold a Literary Basket Auction with a book theme and donate proceeds to your library.
âť– American Library Association (ALA) (ala.org) is the oldest and largest library association in the world. Check out the website for association information, news, events, and advocacy.
