I've met many snakes in my work as a . People may fear snakes, but I've found them to be quite communicative about their boundaries. I have a healthy respect for that, and we get along just fine. ππ

A black-mantled tamarin that I met in eastern Ecuador. This little primate seemed comfortable near our tucked-away lodge but showed a healthy level of suspicion for us humans. I was, of course, keen to say hello! π€

We were on a dirt road through the quiet, open grasslands of North Dakota when we noticed a red shapeless animal obscured by the shifting grass. Once we realized who it was--"Grab the camera!" "There!". Through the sudden clamor and flailing of body parts to get a better view, I could see the most curious eyes of a fox watching us. How lucky we were. π¦π
